The facts below happened after having a "DC" given to Dooley by Hart.

This DC has put the worst defense EVER to wear the orange on the field week after week.

Consider above and below and you tell me who needs to be fired.

we lost to a #2 at home (muschump was desperate enough to fake punt, then....)

we lost to a #5 on the road by 7 (did we have 1 stop on D in the first half?)

we lost to a # 11 on the road (did we have one stop on D in the first half?)

we lost to a #1 (2012 MNCs)

and we lost to a # 3 on the road by 3

Yes. Nobody like Sunseri. I put it on the DB coaches. How the hell did they get jobs coaching UT's secondary? Either one? The players are ok on the back end. the coaching is not

Read between the lines..
uhhh..yeah..our defense is awful. no doubt the worse ever..
we have 2 coaches in the secondary and neither one of them can teach a db to cover correctly..
Dline has improved..some anyways..
So hart gave Dooley Sal?
Does he get a refund or return policy?

A head coach is responsible for the entire team and the hires that are made. What your saying is that we should give dooley credit just for the offense and not the defense, that's on sal. No the head coach is responsible for the team, the coaches and wins or losses. All goes back to the top.

No I saying I want Hart's ass fired for giving Sal a 3 year contract

Unless he fires Sal now and gives DD the vote of confidence.

We should not give Dooley pass on hiring Sunseri. Dooley is ultimately responsible.
However the following facts are true and something to think about before deciding to fire Dooley before at least one of his classes goes full 4 years.

1. Offensive line are all Dooley recruits and may be the best in the country

2. Offense in general is pretty good and extremely talented (mostly Dooley recruits). Even when offense does not play up to potential it still scores a bunch of points.

3. Running game is much improved (give credit to Dooley for hiring Graham if you are going to blame him for hiring Sunseri).

The question is does it make sense to blow up everything that has been improving over the last few years and start over or give Dooley (and I presume Sunseri) one more year to fix the only remaining thing that seems to be really broken (defense which is without question much worse than last year and probably the worst UT ever fielded - this also shows that Wilcox was definitely underrated)

Fair or not, Dooley is gone. He had to beat someone that mattered this year. He didn't do it.

i don't know why people are pinning this on hart.

i thought 7 assistants leaving in the offseason was not a a problem. every hire that was made was an upgrade.

The excuses for Dooley have to stop. I gave him multiple chances, dude just isn't a very good coach. Time to move on

Our Defense is terrible. We have some talent on D, but not nearly enough. We are slow, undisciplined, and take horrible angles. Players have poor technique, and are out of position.

Ultimately, this falls on CDD, but the Defensive coaches have failed miserably this year. Lack of talent is part of it, but the D plays slow, with bad technique, and terrible fundamentals. The DL is about where I expected them, but the LB's and secondary are simply awful.

I would like to know by what criteria you are asserting that we are getting better. The only one that counts is W. L. I haven't seen an improvement yet

No no, no its not.

It's time to hold who is responsible, responsible.

Hell i'll take Gruden,

but I don't want to hear anybody give Hart credit for that.

A bigger variable IMO, why did 7 coaches walk out? SEVEN

imo it is who ever is responsible for hiring the DC

if dooley was not given free reign to choose a defensive coordinator, than that is all you need to know about whether he should continue to be the head coach.

if he was free to choose and chose sunseri, than it shows that the coaching talent he brings to tennessee is as good as the athletic talent

Sorry but that was not the standard. The standard was to show improvement and progress. The gray area comes in when you consider we have improved in some areas, like offense and special teams. We are competitive in every game except Bama. The defense, though has definitely taken a step back. On top of the new scheme, we have players there that are not the best or fastest athletes (being kind here), and we don't have as much depth. I still think overall we have improved and he should get another year. If we haven't turned the corner and show actual improvement in wins in SEC next year then I think everyone can say we gave him a fair shot and didn't bail on him because of a few thousand lunatic fans who think they know more than everybody in the AD and on the football staff.

If the AD wants the coach gone, where are you going?

Hart needed to pee or get off the pot last year.

He decided to take a big ole crap and I give you the UT defense under Sal Sunseri.
