I think so. I think that would be a reasonable conclusion. I also have that as my base-level expectation for the noon presser: no big news, just more talk about how we have to win out the rest of the season (which we do).

The only thing that makes me question that Alabama is hell was those twins from a couple years back in houndstooth hats.

Not to say it's impossible but why would Nick Saban leave Alabama for any other collegiate job? I don't see him leaving the best team in the best conference in college football where he can hand pick his recruits and might win his 3rd NC in 4 years this year. Not to mention his statue on campus, he is the most popular man in Alabama. I don't think he leaves that to go to Texas.

What I don't understand is if you know you are going to can him. Then can him. Begin the process. Get a jump on Arkansas and Auburn. We can still go to "insert generic BS bowl game here ______" and can't use recruiting as an excuse either because it is going to happen before National Signing Day anyway. Just don't understand. Why not rejuvenate the fanbase by showing us that the powers that be aren't going to accept starting SEC play 0-5 for 3 straight years. Everyone and Barbara Dooley know deep down that Dooley is not an SEC coach. Quit playing games. Fire the man.

But why has there only been "insider" news on Gruden and not on any other coach? Seems fishy to me, or more like a bunch of wishful thinking.

Either UT has already locked up or is near locking up Gruden OR this is going to be a long, drawn out, and potentially disappointing process.

Calm down people.. Seriously, take a collective totem pole and CHILL... Wait for an announcement or more 'credible' information.. All the hand ringing in the world will not make this move any faster or make you feel any better...

All you will do with the incessant demands for updates every 15 minutes is piss off the handful of people who actually do have sources and info and run them off, if it's not happened already..

I second this. It would be suicide for Saban to leave Bama. Makes absolutely no sense.

I can speak for Boro and say that his inside connection deals directly with Gruden and not the university, AD, or boosters.

And he's, IMO, the most reliable.

Some of us UT fans are like Taylor Swift. We are so desperate for attention that we will hang all of our hopes on one man who can never live up to the expectations we created. So, we get let down. Then we blame a mere mortal because we wanted Zeus. Then we publicly try to humiliate him and run him out of town and are dumb enough to wonder why noone wants us. Taylor Swift indeed.

He'd be crazy not to do that in the fertile recruiting grounds of Texas.

I was simply defining "sitting there with his thumb up his ***" specifically as waiting till the end of the season to fire Dooley. If no word from the AD comes today, then that is very likely exactly what he is doing.

For now things are still fine, but if Auburn makes a move on Chizik before we do with Dooley, then we've come out of the blocks WAY too slow in a race that Hart can't afford to lose.
