Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Read Basilio's blog everyone....don't worry be happy

I really like Basilio, listen everyday and read his blog. The ONLY thing I find suspect in his blog is that Gruden has talked with Kiffen about UT. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't.

This is why the insiders/guys with sources do not like to post anymore on this thread, you guys expect news every 10 minutes or it isn't happening. This week we will find out if Dooley will be gone or will remain the rest of the season. This should relieve a little stress. Hart is a very smart man and knows what he is doing, Hart also knows the boosters are wanting an improvment. We will find out no later than tomorrow afternoon if Dooley is fired/resigned or will be evaluated at the end of the season.

Thats not the case at all, at least for most. When they say something will happen, and it comes and goes, with nothing happening, you question the source. That's common sense.

Personally, I couldn't care less if we get Gruden or not, just want somebody that can help this team win and put us back where we are supposed to be.

Dude, this is a coaching "speculation" thread, not a coaching "ability" thread.

Please go start your own "Gruden is garbage" thread if that is what you want to talk about. I'm sure the other person in the world that agrees with you will be happy to discuss it with you.

Bam.

No the problem is the the trolls who keep posting presser at 3pm Sunday or at noon tomorrow. They keep feeding the fire, and leading people on. Once it turns out 100% there is no presser today a new rumor will come out about Dooley being fired after Homecoming or something. Only rumor I am pretty sure I believe is Dooley is a dead man walking.

How is Dooley going to recruit effectively anyway, being that his seat is red hot?

It's not about going forward its about holding on to what we have at this point. A month of a committ not knowing who is going to be hired is too long. The biggest issue would a staff that knows for certain it's over work as hard to stay in touch with recruits. IMO they wouldn't and that's why November could be worse if a decision us announced. It's bad now but would be worse IMO

I disagree. If he doesn't have gruden on the hook he should wait. The biggest reason being recruiting and the second to give this team the best shot at a bowl. He can work the back channels just the same to get a coach that couldn't start working til December anyway.

I see it the opposite way. If he doesn't have Gruden on the hook, that's all the more reason to make a move on Dooley and get the ball rolling. We are in our current state because we got desperate and settled for scraps last time we hired a coach. The longer we wait, especially with Auburn, Arkansas and maybe others in the market for a coach, the greater the odds we get stuck doing the same this time.

That is what i fear most in our situation.

I tend to agree with you. If Dooley is indeed done, then make the break quick and clean, then go hard after the Coach or Coaches that you want. Recruiting may suffer initially, but when the new coach is announced, recruiting will pick back up and may even improve as there will no longer be any doubt in the recruits mind as to who the head man will be.

The work looking for a new coach can begin now but all but gruden can't start til December. So with that said there is nothing positive about announcing now if gruden isnt on the hook.

No doubt in my mind at all that if we wait too long we will be dealing with another rushed/iffy hire.

Dana Holgorsen anyone?

The longer things go today with no news, the more it looks like Hart is just going to sit there with his thumb up his ***, waiting on this loser to try and beat a few cupcakes, and either get stuck with him for another crappy season, or getting leftovers for AT LEAST another 3 years.

I'm thinking we would have already known about a press conference if there was going to be one today.

Not saying it won't happen later but today doesn't seem to be the day. This concerns me considering all that I have read keeps referring to the fact that he would not be fired unless we had our man. I guess this means we do not as of yet.

I would think that you would let an assistant finish out the season if you are planning on giving the ax.

Oh well, maybe it won't be a press conference at all. Might just be a text.
