SIAP but did anybody see on VQ where a poster was on the same plane ride as Gruden. JG was watching the UT game live from his laptop and had several pages of notes written from the game. He even posted a picture to solidify his claim. I'm on mobile so I can't link it.

Sawbfhe pic of Gruden, but he details could have been embellished.

I have a hunch that at some point tomorrow, there will one or more posters who have sources "confirming" that there will be a special press conference Monday.

Tomorrow, hell, people are coming out of the woodwork to barf up their rumors.

Damn well better not be something going down on campus tomorrow...I have to be over there for some family stuff and I really don't want a mob scene.

Im not hearing anything about it yet. Hart is most upset over the Bama loss, but Bama has done that to everyone up to this point in the season. I know its dumb to even bring it up, but if Wilcox and Sirmon hang around, we're sitting here with only 1 or 2 losses. I for sure think we still lose to Bama, but think we have a very good shot at the rest. I dont even like to think about it, Wilcox is a darn good coach.

It's too bad our head coach was unable to retain such a valuable pair of assistants, isn't it?

What do you think has to happen for Dooley to be bought out/fired? Another loss?

My thought is the players want to do everything they can to make that a hard decision for the AD and I'm proud of that for them. This team is not a bunch of quitters and on a whole, they seem to really like Dooley. He hasn't lost them this year like he did last year. I'm excited about that and what it may mean for how the rest of the season plays out. Would love to be 8-5 after a bowl game.

I do find it odd that folks want three of our four starting DBs to be true freshman. As gifted as they are, I'm not sure I'd expect them to be much better than what we've got. They'd make plenty of mistakes, being so young.

Seriously??!! Do you think that it can get any worse? We are making average and below average QBs look like Heisman candidates!!! Shaw threw for 356 yards against us!! Did you see Tyler Russell's performance against Bama last night? It was terrible, because he is average at best, and our great, experienced DBs make him look all-world! I would much rather roll with true freshmen, and let them make some mistakes and learn from it. I'm tired of seeing us get gashed in the secondary week after week.

I believe he word was that Wilcox was goin back to the west coast no matter what....he was trying to pretty much from the first day he stepped on campus...literally nothing was goin to keep him here

Not playing Gray and Bonner has cost us more than it would've hurt us. Gray is the fastest CB in orange since Johnathan Wade(still remember him shutting down Desean Jackson). He's in the mold of the young Florida CBs. I'm very excited about the young CBs Coleman, Gray, and Bonner. McNeil is another one(he's getting baptised some right now but he'll be fine) that I like. We have no choice but to go young back there. Gordon is playing downright terrible right now. And the scheme has never really been a problem. Just more of an excuse to me. We run more 1 and 0 than anything and the older guys just aren't up to par. I'm watching games now just looking for future potential players on the defensive side of things.

Just throwing out an alternative to firing CDD and starting all over. How about spending $/time on bringing a first-class D coordinator onboard? I'm not even sure it's a better alternative but I'd like to hear the views on this

We just spent 800,000 on one. Move can't even be thought about.

Peanuts compared to Dooley's buyout. There are probably plenty of reasons to not do this but I wouldn't think money is a significant one

What good DC would leave his job, which has the talent that makes him look good?

We are on our 4th DC in 5 years...horrible idea to start over again. On another note isnt it sort of funny that some of the players who blast Dooley were the same ones who went 5-6 in 2005 and lost at home to Vandy

To be fair, Hart had alot to do with Sal being in his basket. Sal may turn out to be a great dcord, our personnel is much better suited for the 4-3. I still for the life of me cant figure out why Bonner is not in the game, he is the only db on our team that can give our wideouts trouble. He was the only db that could even come close to covering DR. Im no coach, so im sure im missing something to why he doesnt play.

Just a thought, but do you guys think Dooley is waiting on the back end of our schedule where the talent level Bonner would face is significantly lower than what we've been up against thus far? That is how he handled the transition to Brey.

I know they've thrown McNeil out there already, but I believe there is a big difference between playing a true at safety (who covers sections of the field) to a corner (who will often be matched up man with a potential upperclassman). See the comparison to Randolph and Coleman. Both are very good football players, but Coleman (db) wasn't really ready until this year while Randolph (safety) was successful his true fresh year.

Actually Wilcox wanted a 2 year extend and Hart wouldnt give it to him.

Too bad he didn't get it. We have the pieces to be a pretty good 4-3

Ive said many times 3 keys to be a good 3-4

Dominate NT- Mccullers will pass for that

Dynamic Passrusher- ???

Cover corner who can hold up 1o1-???

I don't get the we are more suited for a 4-3 talk - our secondary can't cover - that doesnt change in a 4-3 or a 3-4 - they would still struggle

you need to be able to rush the passer in a 4-3 too so if we were in a 4-3 we would still not be able to cover and still not be able to rush the passer

i see no reason why our LB's all of a sudden would start taking better angles and not giving up huge runs

the problems with our defense are just too large to fix with something this simple

I agree that we need to go young back there - get them some experience and it literally couldnt get any worse - this is the worst SEC defense I have ever witnessed

I just can't think of a single guy you could get to come in for what is almost assuredly a single season.

I really don't know what it would accomplish.
