This was done after MSU....a lot of water under the bridge since then. He had friends two weeks ago.

I don't have the rulebook memorized any more than Lane Kiffin does, but it just seems like hosting MNF and being the HC of a university would be a violation of some kind.

Do you have a clue, or even a complete guess, as to why Gruden's timeline has to be mid to late November?

Gruden is not going to sign anything until there is a job to be had. I believe from what I've been told that there is an agreement in principle.

The wait has something to do with his MNF obligations....also he is scheduled after the 1st of November to take the NCAA testing.

There are a lot of moving pieces to this.

New college coaches must take and pass a recruiting and compliance test prior to taking part in any activity related to coaching. NCAA requirement.

I would think that if Dooley is let go today or Monday and Gruden is in the bag it would at least take a few days or even a week for the Gruden announcement to be made. An announcement would never be done on a Monday because it would take the emphasis off the two teams on MNF and place it on Gruden. I don't believe he would want to do that. I also believe the university would want to make it appear that a search actually took place AFTER Dooley was let go. These are just my opinions, I have no source if information whatsoever.
