That I can understand. But can we name the last time a coach was fired after a win or after four straight wins?

And I didn't know my reputation was anything good to begin with. :)

I don't think it makes it that far.

(Im in the Gruden bunch) But IF he fell threw, I think UT goes another direction and has an answer before it gets that far.

Well hopefully today they announce that Dooley is no longer the coach for the University of Tennessee. Would make the best birthday present ever!!

I went to Hogville to see their reasoning for that question. One poster said because they had WalMart money and no other program can compete with that. The average fan in Ark. believes that. Several posters destroyed that guy, saying WalMart folks haven't donated to the university in years.

:eek:lol:

Walmart money?

Just the timeline 'Boro was given. I have no clue.

I wonder why the thanksgiving time frame is what he has been told.

It doesn't match the firing if DD in his timeline nor does it match anything concerning gruden and Mnf that I know of.

I don't want to answer for 'Boro. I wish I knew. If he announces on MNF, that might be the greatest publicity UT has gotten since '98.

I doubt we will hear anything today.

Phillip Fulmer "stepped down" on a Monday. (Nov. 3rd, 2008)

I would think we will do Monday as well when all of the administration folks are at work and all hands on deck.

I don't see that happening but if it was a week from tomorrow would be the day. Anything more than a week after dd is fired tells me no gruden.

makes more sense than the story. watching Vols game and taking notes? gimme a break.

If that was indeed Gruden on a plane yesterday, I have no doubt in my mind that he was watching our game. I heard stories years ago when he was with the Raiders that he and Charlie Garner would tape UT games and watch them together. Dude loves following UT.

Waiting until Thanksgiving seems a bit far fetched and my blood pressure would take a hit during that time.

But I wouldn't mind waiting longer if the end result is Gruden.

Happy Bday jcvols24! Hopefully it's a good day for everyone in orange.

Why so long after the Dooley announcement?

There are many details behind the scenes that we are unaware of. I was told the earliest the Dooley dismissal would
be announced would be after the USCe game....and that could change. They offered him the opportunity to go out on his terms. That too may have changed since the blowup in the AD with Hart last week.

The timeline on Gruden was mid November at the earliest, with late November after Kentucky being possible. I'll be surprised if that changes at all.

Define going out on your own terms?

Could the Thanksgiving timeline have something to do with him being replaced on MNF?

Do you have a clue, or even a complete guess, as to why Gruden's timeline has to be mid to late November?

Resigning vs being fired....coaching out the season vs interim coach.....friendly vs hostile.

This was done after MSU....a lot of water under the bridge since then. He had friends two weeks ago.
