too many calls for dooleys head. he has to be on his way out today or tomorrow. atleast thats my hope. and i would bet that with all these even if you call them "rumors"....theres too many calling wolf with similar connections that everyones stories are almost matching, so i'm having to think that this time is when they call wolf and mean it.


anyways. heading to bed. hope to wake up tomorrow and check the internet and have to make an appointment for an erection lasting longer than 4 hours.

I want the guy as bad as everyone else...but i dont want to pay him 6 or 7 mill a year on top of the expensive assistants he will want to hire too. Does anyone know of a staff in college football that makes a combined 10mill+ if so please list them.

Will do, what I am getting at is do not believe a lot of what you hear from the media right now. Also don't think this will happen soon for anyone. Especially next week. You may fire Dooley but why would that be a good idea before the season is over.

so you are telling me that ESPN employees. with absolutely 0 ties to knoxville. are telling you theres no chance on gruden.


when we have some media members here in knoxville talking about going after gruden, and dooley getting ousted soon, and the lack of comment from the Athletic Department to address any of the craziness that has entailed this week, and multiple people with sources to the big $ people that are tied to our program are saying near the same things,




that a couple of guys that you know at ESPN say theres no chance its happening?? :mf_surrender:

A benefit would be salvaging some attendance numbers for the last few home games.

/ So heres my questions. Lets say the deal with Gruden, if theres is one that is offered doesn't pan out. Not on the schools side, but let's say Chucky is just hell bent on the NFL. Having such high expectations for this to happen and so many people fired up about it, does it just settle like a big ole kick in the stomach and whoever we get it comes off as a disappointment? Ya know kinda like when we played Florida. I just knew this was our year to get em. After that game went the way it did i was crushed. Does anyone think this whole situation would make us feel like that if we don't get Gruden? Also, real quick, what exactly is trolling?

I dunno Duckman. The media is not saying anything. If you have your guy (Gruden) then why not? And for your info...the season is really over. Beating Troy, Missouri, Vandy and Kentucky is not a given, but nobody is gonna feel awesome winning out knowing we crapped the bed against UGA, uSC and MSU.

i think the disappointment factor depends on who indeed is named if not THE Jon Gruden himself.


a guy thats just a Coordinator with no kind of head coaching experience/winning coach experience, then I can see a disappointment. I think regardless if someone has heard and bought into the Gruden story then it would only be fair to be disappointed. JMO

No I didn't say that, what I am saying is Gruden will not be announced for ANYONE in the time frame some here are suggesting. Could Dooley get fired, sure, but whats the point if Gruden would not be named ANYWHERE til after the MNF season.

well regardless of the validity to your claim, if dooley is canned sooner than later, then it would mean that gruden would be agreeing. of course they could wait till the end to fire him and still get gruden, but I think if you have terms with JG, then screw dooley. that would lift spirits more than anything as far as november goes, knowing he is on his way out.
