Lattimore's leg injury (merged)

The poor guy will be lucky to walk normally again much less play football, anyone taking any kind of enjoyment out of this is sick.

Basically said that he was happy that ML got hurt. Also said that he wished more of their players would get hurt and that ML would still have a future pumping gas in SC. Then he went on to defend his thoughts. Completely unacceptable!!

That's disgusting. I hope he never posts here again.

Ugh. I thought so. Sick for him and his family. I knew when he pulled off his head gear. I've seen that look on the battlefield. It's the same look that someone has when they've been shot. Then, on the replay, I have to say that I was surprised that it didn't compound. It was just held together by skin. Damn. Poor, poor kid. Class act. Prayers going out from here.

I won't lie I cried. I think we all knew that was the end of his playing career. It hurt worse because it shouldn't happen to a person like him. Regardless what happens he will do fine in life it's just really sad.

I wish I could say that I'm surprised Jackson Harris would make an ignorant statement like that, but O can't. Dude is a mouth breather.

I really feel for you guys. ML was an absolute class act and deserved nothing but the best. Even if he can't make it back to football, he'll impact people's lives in the same way Inky Johnson has. He's truly an inspiration.

Marcus Lattimore broke his femur, on top of a torn ACL/MCL/LCL/PCL and chipped his patella, and sartorius tendon rupture along with pes anserinus tears. Hooooly ****.

basically the only thing holding his leg together was skin, just sickening..........

Holy crap, terrible terrible news

Great football player and an even better person from what I am told. It really breaks my heart for him. When he went down, I no longer even cared who won. Knowing how badly he hurt himself was very saddening.

Easily the worst injury I've ever seen. And sadly the report confirms it.

If the reports are true, I don't see how he makes it back from that. Hopefully, Spurrier and USC gives him a job in the USC AD's office like UT did with Inky.

If hoops players only have a one and done rule then football should too. Or hell, go straight to the NFL. The only thing holding them back is the rule. Lattimore could've played pro ball straight out of high school and will now get nothing out of it probably. That sucks.

This is and concussions makes me seriously consider even allowing my sons to play football if they choose to do so. I loved playing, but knowing what I know now about the sport makes me very hesitant with it.

This. It is such a barbaric game. I love it, but damn. ML dedicated his life to this and I feel bad that this is where it likely ends.

I wish him the best. That's the worst thing I have seen since miriani.

I hate this. I wish him the best. I hated seeing that injury on a guy a lot of people say is a great man.

This is just the worst possible news. Such a standup guy, and he's had so much misfortune. Heartbreaking.

Speechless. Imagine having a 2 million dollar mansion, a fancy sports car, financial security for life for you and your family all by doing a job you sincerely love.... Now imagine it all vaporizing in an instant. I was too young to understand the gravity of Marcus Dupree's injury, but this is on par, or possibly worse. By what some people are saying, Lattimore may be lucky to walk normal again, let alone play ball. Sickening. So sorry for him and his family. They are in my prayers.

He will have a spot at Byrnes no matter what if that's what he chooses.

Just awful. Continuing to pray for the young man.

The look on Lattimores face was the worst! The trainers were trying to keep him from looking at it. Looks terrible, but hopefully the diagnosis isn't as bad as we think. Praying for him!

For me it was when he started sobbing under the towel. I don't think it was from pain so much as seeing his dreams crushed. So very sad for him, his family, and friends.

Reminded me of Ryan Broyles last year for Oklahoma when he was on the sideline crying

It really did cast a pall over everything. I turn the channel everytime it comes on. Terrible, sickening injury. Praying for Marcus and his family.

There's still the fibula in there but I imagine that got broken as well.

Either way, I doubt he ever plays football again. Absolutely tragic for the young man. Forget the money, house and cars. Football is something he loves and he won't be able to do it anymore. If he's as good a man as people who know him say he is, then he can finish his degree and move on, but seeing somebody go through that is gut wrenching.

Thoughts go out to lattimore, his family and the South Carolina football program.

The femur is the thigh bone. The tibia and fibula are the lower leg bones. It sounds like he broke his thigh bone where it enters the knee joint, or within the joint.

Just a horrible injury. Even when you get a total knee replacement, you keep 2 or 3 of the cruciate ligaments. To have all four torn, and the tendon ruptures... Those take a long, long time to heal after repair.
