Gruden won the SB with Tampa Bay. He beat the Raiders, the team he coached the previous year. So technically he won with Dungy's players; beating his players. He kind of did get 2 teams to the SB, lol.

ok then why not mention in your OP that he was the architect of a Super Bowl team? That trumps anything Chizik has done even if you ignore the SB ring

He also was coaching a team that gave up a bunch of picks to the Raiders to get him, didn't spend money and got old in a hurry. His last years in Tampa aren't really reflective of his coaching ability. I blame the teams decline on that scumbag Monte kiffin.

We don't know if Gruden can or can't do the job but we do know Dooley can't so I'm ready for a change.

This.I'm not excited about Gruden but Dooley is not the answer so bring Chucky on I'll get behind him.

I do understand why that perception exists. They won with the defense that Dungy basically created. They won with the players that he and the front office drafted. And it's not like they sucked under Dungy. I think that it's true to a certain extent that Dungy laid the groundwork for some of Gruden's success. I think it's a misconception that Gruden had nothing to do with it though.

Kinda hard for me to be wrong about something I never said. TBH I didn't really watch the NFL prior to a few years ago so other than winning the Superbowl at Tampa I'm fairly ignorant to what he has/hasn't done.

At that point I didn't realize he was asking the question sarcastically and was referring to google (a place he can acquire the information he seeks) . The reason I was being a "Richard' is because volmaverick is a troll and a waste of space and if given the option I'll do the same next time.
