Rumor is Dooley had to get approval from Gruden for design specifics of the new football complex. TIFWIW

Okay, I've bought everything so far....but....this doesn't seem right. That would imply that this has been going on for a much longer time. I thought the football complex is near done. Clarify a bit?

Perhaps he just meant as a consultant type of deal.

I don't believe that. I think Dooley micromanages everything. Why is it that Wilcox's defense looked nothing like it did at Boise St and now at Washington? He didn't blitz nearly as much here or anything. That's just one example. Dooley blowing up and acting like a lunatic on the sideline is another thing. I think he wants to control everything instead of just doing his part and allowing his assistant coaches to do theirs. There's a reason he's lost so many assistant coaches that left on their own terms and not on his.

Go watch any Disney movie on leadership or winning teams etc and they all start out as a micromanager. Everybody hates them. It's how you get a team to listen, and learn the plan. Problem is your supposed to transition. I believe DD fundamentally had the right plan initially. He just didn't ever make the transition. He had some brutal breaks along the way and I don't believe he was ever responsible for all the misery. I don't think he had the proper plan though for when his first plan failed. I see great coaches as dynamic and he seems like a pretty static guy.

Your right. he acted like a 13 yo girl and said F off. Rumors are just rumors. We all hear what we want to hear and spin it how we want.

You are being selective in your hearing. It's widely known on campus, and in the AD that Dooley is a grade A, #1 @$$hole.

Office people are not allowed to speak to him, issues with paint color in his office, compliments on his hair....the stories abound by those who work near him, and I know a couple.

I liked the guy, and was an apologist until the Akron game. I knew these stories, but they really didn't bother me because I liked Dooley's public persona, and the clean image he fostered for our program.

None of that changes what primadonna he is in person...by every account a tyrant. That is why he won't be retained in any capacity by this University.

So when Dooley made the contractors redesign his office twice, it wasn't for him but he was just making sure it was up to par for Gruden? lol
