Ok all you grudenites,you talk big but give no good reason why gruden would be a good hire for Tennessee. Yes he won a super bowl,with Dungys players. But failed miserably till he was fired after that. Hasn't been a head coach of any ncaa team. So he's untested at the college level. And please,it's great his wife is a VFL, but really that has NO bearing on his coaching ability.NO proof he can recruit or put together a winning staff. So please let us in on why he's such a great hire.

And yes once again no reasons. Just hope and change. Sound familar? If it's possible get your heads outta tha clouds or whereever they're stuck and give some viable reasons.

This. A lot of the players/former players/coaches who left don't like Dooley. I don't blame them. Others will have to learn to live with a real head coach,regardless of who comes in.

No need to believe me, but a close family member who had no idea we were even considering him saw him. TIFWIW

In reality we do not know what has gone on in other schools searches. I bet Auburn has been in touch with some people, as has Arkansas and other schools. We are just not as in tune with those situations as we are with ours. I think it is crazy to think they cannot come to an agreement with a futvure coach while the current coach is still employed up to the point of actually signing a legal document.

I fully agree that contact measuring interest from candidates is being made. As I stated before i agree everything you say is happening I believe is possible except for the written agreement part. Verbal is possible but not written.

Never forget how dismissive Bryant Gumbel arrogant ass was when Kiffin left us. He is a USC grad and just acted like why would anyone stay at UT when they could coach the great USC.

Havent there been examples in the past of coaches who have been told they are fired but are allowed to coach a bowl game while the new head coach has already been announced.

No, but seriously, if he weren't flying commercially, he wouldn't be in the terminals. If they saw him pull in the front entrance, it would be a different story.

Makes sense, though, because that weekend, Hart was using the UT jet to go court Belichick. He said he was happy where he was, so we're stuck with Gruden.

Oh well, gotta have a backup plan.
