think about just away games. college coach leaves Friday afternoon or saturday morning for a game. gets home saturday night then sunday does his show and spends the day at home or with family. 2 hr practice monday morning then the players are gone for the day. He does this 4-5x/year.

nfl coach leaves his house saturday morning for a game. doesn't get back till late Sunday night, then goes back to the office to prepare film for Monday morning & prepping for the next week. Players are there all day reviewing film. Tuesday & Wednesday is practice & game planning. It's Thursday before he sees his family. He does this 8-10x/year.

UT probably has out around 200 maybe more offers out right now for this class and next.

That shows a terrible understanding of a college coaches duties especially concerning recruiting. Only 50 players is laughable!! It might get to that number after thousands of hours of evaluations over the course of years for specific classes. Hard to believe a poster thinks that.

Fire Dooley and prepare for a middle school coach.

Not a single reputable coach will come here following the attrition that will follow losing another head coach.

Can't you hear the pitch from Hart now, "... and after 2 recruiting classes, if we're not winning championships, you will be fired, too!" Yea, sign me up for that.... LOL

OldVol said it best - patience. I've watched these threads thru the Lovie deal, hiring Dooley, the Shannon deal and now the Gruden hire/no hire.

Believe whatever you want, nobody's trying to twist your arm. You shouldn't be trying to twist someone else's arm unless you have hard evidence. There are a lot of rumors out there and some will be proven true and others false. We won't know anything for sure until UTAD releases a press release.

There's a lot of reliable posters that don't go around making stuff up are saying he's coming. Evidence - you're not going to get any. I believe Jon Gruden is the next coach at UT. Too much smoke and for some reason, just feels right to me.

I'm still going full Gruden, and I have full confidence in the info that Boro, Jay, SBV, OV, BC and others have given. Lets just keep positive and see what happens before we jump to any conclusions. Go vols, go Gruden.

Rumors have abounded this week about the tone of last weeks players only meeting, and it seems it was not of a pro-Dooley nature. Then we see Dooley call out players during his press conference leading to a public blow-up between Hart and Dooley in the AD earlier this week.

I surmise that if Hart is spending a lot of time at practice he may be babysitting the team and Dooley, trying to keep a hotheaded coach who knows he's already gone in check.

Though close to 30 players have told Hart they are done if DD is fired.

Like I have said, it's a mess right now.

I agree with discussion, however there is no cause for some to trash the ones that are trying to share info. They can kindly disagree and be civil.

If the mods see fit the delete this thread, no hurt feelings.

So no one is allowed to question those that say they have inside info?

Petulant 18-20 year olds are loyal to a fault. If Gruden comes they'll be startstruck and this goes out the window. As an aside, my guy says the team hates Dooley....and he knows a bunch of them.

If we eff up this opportunity however I can see that happening.

This football season has been entirely disappointing. The Gruden speculation is all I've got right now (since my Panthers gargle b*lls again). Screw you for trying to take this away from me.
