I would love to land Gruden. I would be more than happy to accept someone else of similar credentials. I will go so far as to jump in bed with "serious potential" contenders if it comes down to that. What I do not want and cannot accept is more DD. I hate being an afterthought in the SEC!

Not that I dont, or do, I honestly dont know who to trust... But why do you put more trust in SBV? If Skeeter works somewhere in the AD, wouldnt he know as much as anyone? What is SBV's ties? Again, just curious, not trying to stir the pot...

Workers in the AD would only know that DD is gone and that's what skeeter has posted. No one in the AD would know anything more than that if the AD is doing his job correctly.

Number 2 means nothing. He can't give DD a public show of support because he doesn't intend to keep him but that means nothing regarding Gruden.

I'm done with UT football until Dooley is fired IF they keep his ass another year. That being said, he is gone shortly.

Imo goat everyone says he's fired he's definitely fired knoxkid is prob just that of his poster name a "kid" trying to cover up the gruden noise and dooley firing

Naw, they cant react to fan anxiety like this IMO, gotta stay with whatever the plan is. It could be (hypothetically) Gruden's request to wait on things. I don't have a clue, fwiw. OSU/ Meyer chatter was there ALL season last year and nothing happened til November if I recall, and they didnt even have a permanent HC at the time.

Defense would improve drastically. With a good OC he could have a lot of success... the question would be his recruiting IMO

I guess I am not too worried because even though I think and hope UT gets Gruden, it will be tough to disappoint me with this next hire. I would be upset if they hire Smart, but if it's an Al Golden, Smart, Patterson, Petersen...even a Tuberville(not high on my list), I will have more confidence than I do now. Not saying that is my wish list or the order, but I wouldnt be angry at any of those hires. I will be upset if they hire a losing coach from a vastly inferior conference that has never even called plays.

Yeah the ole e-cred deal...I know. I am holding on to what was posted earlier by a couple or three guys I have found credible and think they are not going to re-post anything new for a while.

I think the best thing to do is stay calm (if I can) and see what happens on Monday.
