OCI, you said you've received lots of emails regarding the firing/hiring. Just curious, are all the emails consistent or are there any that may make you think differently?

Been preoccupied for the last 18 hours or so. After finally connecting with my main source (who gave me a yes without saying yes), and talking with several folks who are on this board and others, I feel 100% that the details have been worked out with Gruden.

Sorry that I've been away and I won't spend a lot of time here the next day or two. Just know that good times are ahead. I'm getting back to buying season tickets again. Go Vols.

:loco:

it seems our insiders are suggesting that Hart has an agreed deal with Gruden who is waiting on him to fire Dooley, before he signs. YET, Hart does not want to fire Dooley yet, because of the buyout, who they claim Haslam has already agreed to pay. SO, Hart is holding up the best coach he could possibly hire, and giving him every opportunity to back out, so he can wait a few more days and MAYBE fire Dooley after the SC game. this sounds like complete BS to me.

I REALLY hope we'll win for several reasons.

1) I always want to win.
2) I will be more confident in Dooley IF we wind up keeping him.
3) IF he's fired anyway, I'll know to put more stock in what you and most of the other posters are saying.

Fire Thrasher!!

One thing that I keep coming back to is this:

Where are the public dismissals for rumors? If Dooley was still the coach, then it would only make sense for the AD to quell the talk as quickly as possible, at least for recruiting sake. Even if he still privately let Dooley know he was on a short leash.

For Gruden's part, it would absolutely make sense for him to say "I just signed an extension to be with MNF for a long time and I am very happy doing that". Even if Gruden were being polite and listening to the boosters, he would at least publicly spin it.

Hell, the real smart thing to do would be to issue as statement saying, "I will not discuss rumors concerning currently filled coaching positions".

It just doesn't make sense that USA Today has an article about the speculation and not one single person involved has said anything.

This right here is the main reason I have any belief. No offense to SBV and Boro but I don't take anyone's word unless I know them personally.

"I sure hope he can coach, cause if he signs this thing we are stuck with the little bastard" .....name withheld

Maybe there are things going on behind the scenes?? Maybe some truth to the job hunting Dooley did last year? Maybe???
