Not at all. SBV wouldnt have posted it if he didn't completely believe it. It just seems weird how the info all leaked at once though. Maybe it just seems that way to me because it happened here. I don't know. I just would have expected there to be a tighter lid on the story.

Plus, Gruden was mentioned in our last coaching search, and he quickly turned us down.

Even Rucker agrees he was interested last time but the money offered was no where close to what he was wanting. I think Hart is willing to pony up much more $ now.

Are any of the " in the know"posters saying a deal has been reached, saying anything more than a verbal agreement has been reached???!

Guy on VQ says he and 3-4 others had a meeting with Jon Gruden last Tuesday to discuss his interest in TN. He is on the board of JJ Taylor in Tampa and his wife was a UT Cheerleader and Cindy Gruden's Cheerleading coach at UT.

Last Tuesday morning I, and four other gentlemen who are close to John, met with him and discussed his interest in the Tennessee job. I expected to meet some resistance because Cindy and John have been very happy with his work of late. It became readily apparent John and Cindy would love to come back to east Tennessee, and money is not an important issue. This meeting was not a delegation from the University of Tennessee or at the request of Dave.
John expressed his admiration for the accomplishment of Coach Dooley placing particular emphasis on the VFL program and his success in recruiting. Bob Lamonte, John's agent, was also in attendance and inquired of our long term commitment to John and Cindy.
In conclusion, John and Cindy both hope Coach Dooley succeeds in turning this program around. However, I left with the confidence the Grudens would welcome the challenge if Tennessee were to need them.

That may have had a lot to do with how much was offered to him, compliments of Hammy. I can see the look on his face when he saw 2 million(just a guess) on the table. :crazy:
