*SIGH* Hog, I gotta respect the viewpoint, but logic dictates that if you are negotiating a deal you wont talk about it until its done.

i don't think gruden will be successful, but i hope he will. if gruden is hired and fails tennessee football will be so far in the dumps that it will take at least 15 years to fix.

We can hope but... Fans are already mentioning wearing the Gruden masks and t-shirts to the game. I saw pictures this am where shirts have been made. "Gruden's Groupies" is one example.

No we won't, the damage is done by Dooley. Win or lose, there is no way Dooley stays as coach. Beating up on FCS schools and the likes of Ky, Troy, Vandy does not qualify as Dooley getting it done.
Plus you got Dooley out here throwing players under the bus and these players don't respect him and its going to show Sat with him on the sideline trying to coach. Let us know how many shows up at Neyland this year from here on out. Then you can say the fans have even spoken.

And again, a "newer' AD that did not hire him is constantly taking fire over him when there are no loyalties there. This is the biggest item left out of most assessments of what is transpiring.

I have no doubt Hart took over and gave him a pass last year, even the KY game was forgiven to an extent. He may have said "8 games is your mark next year", in fact I believe he did say this. After the way this year has gone BEYOND wins and losses, I do nto think Hart is willing to take one more bit of grief over Dooley and is getting his signature hire in all this. I happen to believe for numerous reasons that this is Coach Jon Gruden.

The answer: Of course they know, but they dont have to talk about it. If they are smart, they wont.

Until something becomes official on Dooley, there will be nothing official on hiring a new coach. That's the way it works. Probably lots of stuff going on unofficially, and that's where the news gets leaked ( rumors ).
