I have no idea why people say this. Wins don't get handed to you just because you don't get your way.

Football can often be a game decided by a series of random uncontrollable events like the bounce of the oddly shapped ball. It happens all the time, Clowney could blow his knee out on the first play, Shaw could fumble 3 times and we could run two kicks back and Dooley would have won by accident.

It could happen, yes, but very very unlikely. And just because it's never happened, doesn't mean it's gonna happen this weekend.

From what I've heard, everyone on the donor side of the equation believes Dooley has to get 8 wins. Everyone with a source inside the program says Dooley is out, and Gruden is essentially in.

So I really want to believe what the "insiders" are saying, but the disagreement has me worried. I would think the donors would know about any dealing with Gruden, since they are the ones allegedly meeting with him.

So basically USCe is the pivot. The only thing is this: Ive been around on this earth long enough to know that for the most part, especially in big deals, usually when one side says one thing, it means the opposite, especially when all signs point north.

Now, don't get me wrong on anyone's sources, but lower level people like to leak info, its their only connection to the big dogs, but the big dogs are gonna stay tight or say the opposite things, because THEY are the ones actually investing in it hard.

Does that make sense?

DD was not on Vol Calls last night, I don't buy the hip excuse. They played his recording from Monday, how can he come down on Bray about avoiding the media when he is guilty of it himself?

The patio at Dead End BBQ is big enough for DD to have gotten comfortable, something tells me there is more to DD not being there than what is being reported by the media.

It will be interesting to see how recruiting takes off when the Gruden news becomes official..Didn't Kamara say that he was coming to UT if gruden comes here? I would say that a lot of high-profile players will be beating down the door to play for Gruden..A top 10 class is a distinct possibility, maybe top 5.

Dooley would still find a way to lose.

I'm not gonna dispute anything the experts have said, I'm pretty sure Dools gets the ax Monday. Gruden on the other hand is a work in progress.

But it's usually a game decided by the talent of the players, and skill of the coaches.

By that same vein, so could Bray, CP, AJ or anyone else. If you are saying anything could happen, I agree. But when it rains, it rains on both sides of the field.

I appreciate the thanks, but I'm nothing special. If I'm Dave Hart, I come out TOMORROW and have a press conference with Derek Dooley at my side. I don't tell anyone what it's about, not even my dog. At the press conference, I tell CDD in a public forum to pull his head out of his ass, he's a better coach than this, and if he wins out.....he signs the three-year extension in my briefcase.

Hold on a minute....you hate Jon Gruden, and your solution to our problems is to EXTEND Derek Dooley? Derek Dooley is worthy of a contract extension? Mr. Last Second FG while down by 34 to Alabama needs more time? The same person that enabled Da'Rick, Bray, and mocked Hunter's draft status during a press conference? This guy might be worthly of a contract extension?

I see Dooley still has some fans left...3 year extension,DEM..really?:shakehead:

Guess you prefer 3 more years losing....ok...Makes sense now...NOT!

Weird that he showed up on 3HL, where they actually asked him some very pointed questions but he did not make Vol calls where it's 100% company line callers. Maybe he was hurting and had to rest?

Basilio's blog says he doesn't think it's done. Technically, he could be correct without conflicting with VN. If it's just a verbal agreement, then it's not done.

Anyone else hear the rumor that Spurrier has set up a paypal account and let the rest of the SEC coaches know that when it reaches $5mill he'll toss the game so we can keep Dooley?

I don't live in Knoxville. I've been wondering what "3HL" is. Sounds like it's either a station or a show.
