Got the final confirmation needed. I am placing a ban bet with myself that Gruden is the next head coach. The deal has been reached. Terms agreed upon, and the announcement will be made after Dooley is fired. Tennessee football is back.

Either the gentleman quoted has the lowest self esteem in the history of mankind; needing to garner attention, identity and respect from those on this board for only a short period of time till disproven or we have a new coach. Since I do not believe anyone to be such a delusional narcissistic soul (outside of someone well known running for re-election) and re-reading his posts, and making one inquiry to an ol' sage I have known for 20 plus years, I have come to the conclusion that a loss on Sat combined with the firing on Monday will usher in the Jon Gruden era at the University of Tennessee. Well done OCIVol .............Relevant again..Thankful :good!:

The Vols have gorgeous facilities that must be among the nation's best. Right? "No," says Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart forcefully. "We've got a lot of work to do."

"We have some innate challenges," Hart said. "Each year that those disadvantages remain on the table, you set yourselves back."

"All of our challenges can be overcome and will be overcome, but first we have to be realistic about what they are," Hart said. "To me, that's the easy part. And then we have to build strategic plans to achieve what we want to achieve. And the toughest thing is that we have to do it with urgency."

"I'm competitive to a fault. I'm not proud of that, but that's kind of in my DNA," Hart said. "So nobody's more upset, believe me. I just can't display it like some people can."

None of those quotes give me the impression that Hart is willing to put up with mediocrity and embarrassing losses much longer. :twocents:

First of all thank you for serving sir. Second, if you don't like Gruden thats fine, that is your personal opinion and you are intitled to it. Third, who would you hire if you were Mr. Hart? Thanks

I appreciate the thanks, but I'm nothing special. If I'm Dave Hart, I come out TOMORROW and have a press conference with Derek Dooley at my side. I don't tell anyone what it's about, not even my dog. At the press conference, I tell CDD in a public forum to pull his head out of his ass, he's a better coach than this, and if he wins out.....he signs the three-year extension in my briefcase.

So, explain to us what it is that you think Hart should do. Should he keep Dooley or fire him. If he's fired; who should Hart replace him with?

See above, please and thank you.

Do not engage in this debate. He hates Gruden-thinks he's worthless. That is all. Move along.

You're correct. I don't want him to ruin the Vols like he did the Bucs.

Sorry sarge douche.....uh deus.....we can choose for ourselves.

Ayup, you can. Just trying to help you make an informed decision rather than an emotional one.

+1. SabanandSpurrierdidn'tevenrisetogarbagelevelintheNFL. Oh and you meant parity--parody is what DEM is doing.

At least you're noticing me.

Those comments just reek of a guy who is going to build an EMPIRE!

JayVol, Boro-Vol, Ov, DTO, and others all said to be prepared for mis-information. Said this a couple weeks ago. So I take all that with a grain of salt. This is the usual stance most people take when a coaching change comes around. Stay the course, watch the game, and then the real story will come out. Although I don't think an announcement comes till Monday at the earliest. JMO.

You're a smart man by keeping the misinformation in mind and taking it with a grain of salt...I'm very confident right now! I'm dripping with it..:dance2:

I have no doubt that there has been info indicating something is going on, but theres definitely something strange here.

so your saying a mod is trolling? isnt that against the jedi orders' rules somewhere?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought you said that DD isn't going anywhere this year.

Thrashers been coming around Black...he's still cautious, but his demeanor is different...no sense calling him out...Thrash is obviously interested or he wouldnt still be here...he's just trying to keep it real...warranted in the past history of this programs decisions IMO.

Not to mention the amazing level of heat he is taking over a coach with a losing record that HE DID NOT HIRE. That gets so lost in all this. Tennessee is a football school, the AD has to put football 1st like Kentucky does basketball. When your premier sport is bottom in the SEC, in the coaches 3rd year, there is no real choice to make, the only choice is timing and method of handling the change.
