Official Jon Gruden Thread III

well if anyone is listening to the Bill King show on XM or even the Finebaum show it appears that they think this move is not and never going to happen. once and NFL guy always an NFL guy and the switch down to college is something that is hard for them to adjust to....limited access to players, limited practice time etc. that is what they are saying not that I agree, but that is what is going on around the horn!! thoughts??

JayVol, Boro-Vol, Ov, DTO, and others all said to be prepared for mis-information. Said this a couple weeks ago. So I take all that with a grain of salt. This is the usual stance most people take when a coaching change comes around. Stay the course, watch the game, and then the real story will come out. Although I don't think an announcement comes till Monday at the earliest. JMO.

I kinda want to see the massive, world ending meltdown this board will have when this doesn't happen.

You too?? Guarantee you that grown men cry themselves to sleep when their Lord and Master, Jon Gru-bage doesn't show up to save them.

I'll be in the corner laughing while it's happening.

What I'm going on right now, by piecing all these over-optimistic rumors together with what I've heard from actual trustworthy people, is that Dooley needs 8 wins to keep his job, and that we have serious, serious interest in Gruden, and serious interest from Gruden.

I do not believe we have a deal with Gruden, and even if we do, it is only a verbal agreement, because Dooley is still our coach.

If we win Saturday, things get complicated. Then we'll have fans praying for a Vandy or UK loss, and that's always an ugly situation.

I do look forward to seeing what OCI's next username is, though, should Dooley win out.

I do agree with you on the verbal agreement thought, anything more than that would place the AD in a Petrino and Auburn situation.

I don't think Dooley has enough control of his team to retain his job. He fades in the tough situations.

I know some will but I will never ever cheer against my Vols

I have not been on Volnation long enough to know about OCI changing his username if he has done that.

At this point I am just hoping for the best and enjoying the ride

Look at all the hoopla, arguing, and misinformation that ran rampant with Bama's Saban hire, then imagine if he were as relevant nationally as Gruden is today what it would have been like.

Like I said I have no reason to doubt what I have heard from every direction but fully expect it to be insanity in the press and on the forums-social media until finalized and announced.

Haven't posted too much lately when 3 seconds later its 6 pages back lol. Plus this thread has kind of taken on a life of its own making it hard to keep up with the conversations and sub conversations mixed in with the actual conversations.

Whether the Gruden rumors are true or not, I don't see any way CDD keeps his job.

This is all that I could think of today while I was getting ready for work.

I'm thinking that the trolls will show up right around 10-11AM EST and get the forum overexcited again.

I think that Spurrier is going to coach circles around our staff on both sides of the ball. They have better playmakers all around. We'll be lucky to prevent them from scoring a special teams or defensive TD.

This sounds logical. This is gonna be a crazy ride(if it hasn't been already) if we beat SC Saturday...
