Jeremy Bates would be offensive coordinator or quarterbacks coach.
Wouldn't Gruden like to take over QB's? I think Pittman is a good coach, just not sold on his recruiting yet, I think we can still upgrade at that spot. Graham is the best RB coach in the nation, lights out recruiter, and a VFL, keep him.
Keep Jay Gramh for sure!!!! Maybe get Trooper if his crew gets fired at AU. Tee Martin maybe, idk he likes SC. And a person I would love to see even as a motivational pump up specialist would be Al Wilson. Love the guy always got the team pumped in 98'
Jim Zorn: A member of the Jon Gruden coaching tree. Zorn is likely to get the ax or move on with Gruden due to the play of Chiefs QB Matt Cassell.
Jay Gruden: Bengals are in a free fall and Jay's (Jon's brother) NFL stock might be falling.
Dick Jauron: Another member of Gruden's coaching tree. Ties to Haslam. DC of the Browns.
Brad Childress: Also a member of the Browns staff with ties to Haslam. A member of the Mike Holmgren coaching tree that Gruden is from.
Bill Callahan: Former Raiders head coach and offensive coordinator under Jon Gruden. Familiar with the college game from his time at Nebraska.
Others: Marty Mornhinweg, Rob Ryan (good friends), and Steve Spagnuolo.
I know you are just throwing names out there with ties to Gruden, but I believe that any current NFL coach will have to wait until January and even then, it might be tough. Remember the Bisaccia issue? He had trouble getting out of his contract. NFL is not like college. I don't think Bengals are necessarily in a free fall, and I would be shocked if Jay came- he can stay in NFL and I think would cost too much. Callahan is the OL/OC with Cowboys. Depends on their season but don't see him as realistic either.
I think you could see a former NFL guy or two (like Bates) but several will be college guys for recruiting. I think Morris would be great but not sure if we could pay him.
