We all hate Kiffin for what he did, but there's no doubt that he brought excitement to the program the one year that he was here and had us competing in every game except for Ole Miss. Gruden coming here would finally erase the pain he left behind because Gruden would bring great excitement and he would be able to recruit like crazy. I don't think we would have to worry about him bolting ships either because in a way, he's a Tennessee guy.

Kiffin was 5-15 at Oakland.

Gruden was 38-26 at Oakland, plus a Super Bowl ring from Tampa Bay. DWI

So you're telling me a guy who has been successful in the NFL, won a Super Bowl AND has been on MNF for the past few years that every recruit in the country watches won't be able to recruit? You're crazy.

listen man

we will suck next year with gruden too

ok

just be sure to be there 4 him

Gruden will get a fair chance just like Dools to turn this program around. I'm not expecting a great season next year and I'm expecting bad if Dooley returns.

lane kiffin was the hire.. he just left for his dream job. If we still had him we would be right where we want to be. We need to stop using the excuse of "well if we had him, we would be in trouble." news flash every program is dirty. The best thing wouldve been him on the opposite side of saban, saying **** you! this is Tennessee. rant over, but yes the Gruden hiring would heal the pain.

What exactly are the chances the Vols pick up Gruden as the next coach?

None. It would be a disaster anyways. Gruden is a NFL guy, pure and simple. Even if he came to UT, he would jump ship after 2 years or so once he had a little success and a NFL job came open. Can't believe our dumb fanbase can't see this.

Eh, you need to wake up. If Gruden came here it would be because he wanted to be here. He doesn't have to wait for NFL jobs to open up. He could go coach at Cleveland or any other job that becomes open after the season.
