I'm just wondering how can you not have a team UP for it's No.1 rivalry game all year. I saw two players just balling out for our team(Patterson and Sentimore). The others should've matched that intensity. But we've got a coach that's soft and I'm tired of it.

I would also include AJ Johnson and Marlin Lane.

Former Vol OL Jarrod Shaw has just signed with the Browns. Congrats to him. Wonder if Haslam had anything to do with it :)

Seventeenth-ranked South Carolina practiced in preparation for Tennessee on Tuesday and GamecockCentral.com was there. The highlights:

* Dylan Thompson (illness) practiced fully. Coach Steve Spurrier said earlier on Tuesday that the Tennessee game would be Connor Shaw's game, no matter what, unless he was injured.

* Jadeveon Clowney (foot) was not full-go in practice but said he will be fine for Saturday.

* Quin Smith (illness), Marcus Lattimore (back) and Cody Gibson (illness) all practiced and are expected to be ready on Saturday.

* Kelcy Quarles (shoulder) did not practice. Coach Brad Lawing said that the didn't know what Quarles' status would be for Saturday.

* Kadetrix Marcus is backing up D.J. Swearinger at free safety while Jared Shaw has been moved to Brison Williams' backup at strong safety.

* Joe Robinson said that ball security was obviously a huge part of practice, but it also was before the Florida game. Florida just made the plays. Not many special-teamers have been switched around, as Spurrier said would happen -- Robinson is focusing on the guys he has actually making plays.

* Shaq Wilson said that USC has been watching some film of Tyler Bray and they notice he throws a lot of interceptions, but that doesn't mean anything. They still have to stay in their gaps and make the plays.

* DeVonte Holloman said that Stephon Gilmore would be visiting USC on Saturday, as Buffalo has a bye week. Holloman, Gilmore, Clowney, Gerald Dixon, Gerald Dixon Jr., Landon Ard and Tennessee's Justin Worley and Cordarrelle Patterson all played against each other in high school. Fort Mill's Jared Shaw also took his turn playing against the Rock Hill products.

* Players who didn't practice or who were in yellow jerseys were: Quarles, T.J. Gurley (knee), Rico McWilliams (knee), Marcquis Roberts (knee), Shon Carson (wrist), Jacob Baker (knee) and Kendric Salley (knee).

He had a decent game. Had a lot of missed yards from stopping his feet and dancing to much.

I thought he was doing that to try and make people miss on tackles. Seemed effective to me, but I don't pretend to know a lot about football fundamentals.

At the risk of being flamed beyond recognition...

I realize I a lot of people loathe Rucker, but I do get a small kick out of him basically calling out Pennington for lobbing things around...yet not going to any press conferences to face anybody.

Running backs that dance in the backfield rarely do damage on those runs. When nothing is there you have to get what you can get.

Well guys, I'm for moving on from the coaches hot seat talk (I've been for moving on from that for a long-time, really ever since Dooley was hired).

I'm excited about the rest of this season. We've got 5 games left to play and this team has got a lot to prove. These players keep saying they believe in themselves and believe they are better than their record. They also have proved against NC State that they can beat quality opponents.

I think USCjr is too good for us, frankly. But Kentucky, Missouri, Vanderbilt and Troy all are very beatable and are lower quality teams than NC State. Play well, and we can at least finish with a winning record and a bowl game. At this point, that's worth playing for in my mind.

I just really hope the negativity of the fans and local media doesn't sap this team of energy and focus. It's a shame these players have to put up with all of this.

Gotcha. Misunderstood. I thought you meant when he was busting off his runs. He seemed to do these funny hop-steps and I was thinking you were saying those slowed him down.

I agree dancing in the backfield is bad in any scenario.

WallyBalls....are you from Erwin?

Born and raised in Erwin...then 10 years in Knoxville before moving to Mount Pleasant (i.e. Charleston)...

Was up there this weekend...and yes Clarence's is still open...and so is the Dairy Ace

Right on guys.

I've got family roots there, and I've done a few things with NFS...and its the only place in the world I will eat fried apple pies (the ones the old ladies at one of the churches make during the festival).

Absolutely love it up there.

Spent a couple of minutes in the gruden thread, trying to convince those cats that we would beat vandy. I felt like the angels that showed up on Lot's doorstep in the bible. Smh

It is truly insane. Every negative rumor regarding Dooley is fact and a foregone conclusion that Gruden is our coach. If it doesn't happen, there should be a suicide hotline readily available.

I had forgotten that forum is just an extension of the football forum.

Always stay objective. Don't let other issues cloud the point at hand. These idiots just want to crown gruden and assume we will lose every game because the teams we have lost to are a combined 27-1. Heck yes we have underperformed and looked pitiful at times, but for the love of Todd man, we are better than bloody Vandy

I agree. I think they would pull for Vandy to insure a Dooley firing.
