Relax this kid is a VOL this reminds me of Patterson too much. Hubbs said on John and Jimmay that once a kid from Hutchinson committs to a school that the coaches do not let them take any more visits which is why Patterson didn't committ until signing day, and probably why Toby Johnson hasn't yet. He probably just wants to make sure and get all of his visits in I wouldn't worry about this kid too much.
"I talk to coach Sal and coach Staley a lot. They just say how bad they need me and stuff," Johnson said. "They see me playing a little bit of everything, but mostly at the five-technique. But, also the four and the six," Johnson said. "I like it a lot because it makes me more valuable to the team and I'm an every down guy."
"It just felt like family while I was down there. It just felt like family and it felt like they needed me down there and I've seen how much they needed me and they didn't have that many people on the d-line," Johnson said. "I mean, they have people but they don't have a lot with experience. They have a couple of older guys."
Johnson said he's likely to take a visit to Tennessee later in the year and that his coaches are setting that up. Along with Tennessee, he also wants to try and squeeze in several other trips besides the one official he's already taken to Oklahoma.
"I want to go to a Mississippi school, probably Nebraska, Miami, schools like that. Georgia," Johnson said. "I haven't eliminated anybody so far, I'm still giving everybody a shot," Johnson said.
is he likely a vol?
I travel to Hutchinson quite a bit as I have a small business just west of Hutch. I have seen TJ out and about in Hutch 3-4 times and everytime I have seen him, he is wearing a Tennessee hat. Maybe it's just a comfortable cap, I think he is headed to Tennessee.
Based on this board.. Yes. Played with Patterson and has visited. Really likes what he felt here. Etc., etc.. I'd say we have the best chance. JC guys usually make decisions more on what they want instead of parents or high school buddies so they seem to be just a little bit more predictable. Just a little.
