When told he was given the courtesy of deciding how he wanted to go out. They were going to give him the opportunity to finish out the year, or to allow an interim to take over. After the SC game has always been the timeline for announcing it.

Not sure that after yesterdays fireworks the timeline still exists.

You think sooner? This week?

Need to look at Mark Dantonio, MSU: This guy went to South Carolina and has Michigan State winning. A tough job for anyone, including the darling Nick Saban. Dantonio has had two 11 win seasons there in six years, Saban never had one 11 win season at Michigan State. Once Saban had his first 9 win season, he left MSU for LSU and didn't coach the bowl game. Believe me, if Dantonio can recruit kids to East Lansing, he can recruit kids to Tennessee. And the guy is well respected by his peers and national media coming out of the Tressel camp.

Mark Dantonio, Michigan State (6 years)
Alma Mater: South Carolina (1976-78)
Overall Record: 62-39 (9 years)
If Brady Hoke is the top coach in the Legends Division, Dantonio is really 1B. In six seasons in East Lansing, Dantonio has turned the Spartans from underachiever to Big Ten title contender. The Spartans won 22 games through his first three years, but has posted back-to-back seasons of 11 victories. And there’s one more feather in the cap for Dantonio and Michigan State to brag about – the Spartans own a four-game winning streak over rival Michigan. Dantonio has yet to lead Michigan State to a Rose Bowl appearance, but with the program on the right track, it’s only a matter of time before the Spartans make the trek to Pasadena. Dantonio’s success isn’t just limited to Michigan State, as he posted an 18-17 record in three years with Cincinnati and led the Bearcats to two bowl trips. Dantonio seems to be a perfect fit at Michigan State and should keep this program among the best in the Big Ten as long as he sticks around in East Lansing.

There's a thread for that, we want the best here. MSU isn't all that great this year either.

As in announcement immediately following SC beat down and he doesn't get to coach out the season????? Help me here, I'm really hoping.

I would have to think if the timeline has changed, as in its going to happen sooner, we would probably hear something today.

But I guess anything can happen. He's done and that's the main part. At this point I don't care as much about when on CDD, but more so on getting loose ends tied up with Gruden.

I'd be shocked if he coaches out the year. He's already lost the team.

I bet the people in the Dantonio thread would love this information.

Aigne did just say ... speaking of Dooley "I just don't think he is the guy to bring Tennessee back to where it needs to be"

Mr. arrogant egotistical ass has given up his right to any courtesy as to how he goes out. Hart send him packing now.
I agree. I just know how it was told to him last week. They gave him the opportunity to call his own play. That's probably out the window after yesterday.
