Bray's reaction to the season

I don't care if he cares. I don't care if he feels picked on. I don't even care if he's happy or not.

What I care about is seeing him play to his ability and not choke when his team needs a play out of him.

If you listen to Bray's own words which are similar to words he used following UGA, UF, and maybe MSU... he is defining what it means to choke under pressure.

I have stated where I stand on Dooley and it has not changed. He's ultimately responsible for wins and losses. He's had his chance. IMO, it should be down to a 5 game disqualifying match. Win them all... or be replaced.

That said, I feel sorry for the guy too. Not because of money but because the guys he thought he didn't have to worry about... the guys he thought would be big time players for him have cost him big games. He put the these games in the hands of Bray and Hunter... and they didn't come through.

Hopefully whatever happens with Dooley this will be a lesson learned. Never assume any guy will come through and never be afraid to replace even your best players if they underperform. But I don't think many here can imagine the stress he's under right now... mostly because of those two guys.

Died on! I think Bray has been a fan favorite too so its been hard for CDD to replace him without getting hell for it. Loss/Loss imo. Now though its starting to show that he may not be the answer and many fans are wanting Worley to have a shot. I know the old saying about the favorite player on the team after losses is the backup but let's be honest the cries to bench Bray have just recently started getting louder by the fans. REALLY loud after this past wknd. Hopefully CDD did tell him that he'll be benched like Hubbs or someone said cause USCjr is winnable but we still can't afford mistakes or a QB "giving up.". We were sure spoiled by the likes of PM that's for sure.

Seeing Bray on the sideline laughing and BSing while we were down was not good in my eyes. Seeing him on the headset talking to whomever upstairs was really bad. Imo if he didn't see the camera on him he probably would have rolled his eyes at whatever he was being told. Just had that I don't really care, I know more than you do, look on his face.

There is a simple way to fix that.....

There are several ways to fix it. One is to start playing better. Two is win some big games and three is for him to move on to the NFL. Two of those options are easier said than done. I am sure that those things can start to weigh on a young man with that kind of pressure on them.

That's between you & him, but I would say the kid has no heart or competitive drive.

Did u see the same interview I did? He seemed pissed off and sick of losing to me.. I love how at the end he talked about how they HAVE to win NOW.. There's no choice.. I love the attitude.

That's what I was thinking... Especially when he limped off the field after getting his knee jacked against Miss St and didn't return to the game.

Wait, that's not what happened...

I like your name...insightful, very appropriate.

Says the guy who's never played a down of Tennessee football. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't criticize him for saying Bray is soft. Bray's the one with the full ride to college, not him. Those of us who had to shell out mucho bucks to attend college can say whatever we wanna say about the twerp. :nono:

Bray is not soft.

He has never been coached or developed into a mature QB. Chaney has let him gunsling without building up in him any real QB skills.

Bray's shortcomings fall squarely on the shoulders of Chaney. Cut would make him into a first-rounder or would have him riding pine until he was ready to be made into a first rounder.

While I agree that Cut would have developed Bray better than Chaney has I don't know about the riding the pine because of the situation we were in when Bray took over.

I was listening to 102.5 in Nashville on the ride in this morning and they were interviewing Bubba Miller and if his tone is any indication Dooley will never make it at Tennessee with any help from former players. They were also busting Tylers balls on 104.5 as well. The tsnami has started and it will end Dolleys career, but i still like the man. From his press conference he basically called bray out saying Worley would play if he was "loose" with the ball. Most people would think that is turnovers but i think he meant just tossing the ball in the air hoping for someone to make a play.

Bray is soft and skipping press confernece after a tough loss just goes to show you he is a headcase. He is not a leader and Dooley should have benched his butt earlier in the season. Regardless I would be willing to bet our record would be the same with Worley at the helm so why not?

You r right devolopment needs to be on Chaney, but many r starting to wonder or realize that maybe Bray just doesn't want to be developed the way he needs to. Two way street IMO.

exactly! I'm glad others see it the same way I do cause many on here don't seem too. :good!:

Like I said in a previous post I think CDD is finally getting enough fan support to do this after the last few games. If he would have done it with him only knowing the reason and we lose then he'd be hung faster than he is currently. Many before Bama game started saying if bray isn't cutting it during the game then put Worley in. IMO he did right on que. Not sure about anyone else but after brays last series I said to myself I hope Worley is put in next O series. And cdd did just that. Now people are open to bench bray for Worley, and cdd can finally give him such an ultimatum. Some like that it was public and some don't. Honestly I'm glad he did it. Maybe he's been giving him the same ultimatum in private over the last few weeks and it hasn't worked.

Just all IMHO tifwiw etc etc yadda yadda yadda...GBO!!!!

Oh, you mean folks like myself? So since you payed to go to college that gives you the knoweldge you need to assess a kid's physical/mental toughness on the football field. Maybe it gives you some ground to criticize his work in the classroom, but doesn't mean you know a thing about what it takes to play football for UT.

He ended the whole thing saying something like "I've been here 3 years and shouldn't be making the mistakes I'm making." Sounds like owning up to me. He hasn't arrived quite yet, but his clarification that he didn't mean the pick six against SC was something he laughed off, but just had to move on from tells me he's learning to think a little more about how he comes off. Work in progress, long way to go, but I don't buy soft or doesn't care.

Kinda freaky how wide his eyebrows are.

Here's the simple truth, if your HC needs fan approval to make a decision then you have the wrong HC. The old saying "if the HC listens to the fans then he's destined to be sitting in the stands with them" is absolutely true. I've never been a big TB fan but I don't think he all that bad, UT fans just expected too much out of him. All the "He's the best in the SEC" , "he's a top 5 QB" or "TB is a 1st round draft pick" talk by UT fans put expectations so high that he couldn't possibly meet them with the talent he has around him. Be honest, how many players starting for UT would start at Bama, Fla, USCe or Ga? I can see only 1 maybe 2. Patterson would start for any team in the country, Hunter would be an average player on a good team, Bray with Bama type talent around him and better coaching would be winning like McCarron is.

I totally agree that a coach shouldn't have to listen to fans but lets be honest, like I commented in my post, if cdd did it with him only knowing the reason then he'd be flamed for it. It's not the best position for him to be in, and sure he doesn't want to be in it or doing it because he is a weak coach. Like you said majority of folks thought that bray was pretty much the fan favorite and second coming of PM. Dooley may have wanted to bench him, but if he does and things don't go well then he gets blamed for it. People will call him stupid for benching him and we would have won if he was in yadda yadda yadda. Now bray pretty much showed many that maybe he isn't the guy, and people will now be open to Worley and all that will come with him in good or bad.

It's a bad position to be in but it's a mind game that's for sure. One thing all can pretty much be on accordance with, unless you truly just hate cdd, is that the QB situation he walked into was about the worst possible. Only thing that could have been worse would have been if bray an/or Simms didn't fully enroll or weren't EEs. That could have left him with no QB on campus after what kiffy did in his house cleaning.
