Just wanted to add this to the discussion, it's old news, I know, but i feel like i'm contributing by saying this. My Grandfather played BBall at UT from 51-54, and had a scholly for football too. Some of the people that have lived in Johnson City for awhile might know his name, Elvin Little. He coached at Science Hill for 20 years (he was actually Spurrier's BBall coach). He still knows people at the University. He was told recently that Haslam would foot the bill if they want Dooley gone. Old news, i know.

I know of Coach Little. He hired George Pitts, didn't he?

It would be cool to see Jon Gruden on Monday night football humming the lyrics to rocky top during the broadcast.

"Good ole Rocky Top, WOO! Rocky Top Tennessee,Rocky Top Tennessee............"

I do have to ask the question. If Dooley has been told, why not make it public? What does the delay benefit?

Cool story bro. (Seriously for once!). Everyone who has followed sports in the Tri-Cities for very long has heard of him. Isn't the gym at Science Hill named after him also? If not it should be.

The new one? Idk if it's named after him, but i know there's a big banner of him hanging in the front. I live in NC now, so i've never been to the new gym.

He did, but I am just saying that any E-Cred to be handed out when Gruden is hired will not go to him, but the handful in this thread that have remained firm in sharing what they have been told...

I agree with that. Props to JayVol, OV, and Boro. Hope I'm not missing anyone.
