Lol, if LSU had a half decent quarterback they would have been national champs, they won despite him not because of him. Also, what has connor shaw done to impress anybody? He beat a georgia team that didn't show up, did nothing against LSU and nothing against Florida. Plus out of all the running quarterbacks in the SEC, Manziel is the only one that has not gotten hurt. As for Tebow, the next "tebow" will not come around anywhere near enough to win consistently.

Then nothing because I couldn't put Teague in the game to get killed over and over. As soon as #10 came into the game Miss. State went after him knowing Bumphis would get open.
And if practice is so important and they say E.Gordon doesn't practice well then why is he playing? And he blows a lot of assignments I've watched McNeil tell him to do something more than once and he does what the hell he wants to do.

Exactly. I'm at a loss. If these guys are practicing well but choking in the game, when it matters, doesn't it make sense to make the changes? Sure, you might have guys that aren't practicing as well and don't have as much experience, but you have to make a change when wins and losses are on the line. At least give them a shot. Right now, it's really hard to imagine they could be worse.
I would think they are sticking with veterans to try and develop better practice habits for the freshmen and sophomores (ultimately making for better upperclassmen down the road).
Unfortunately, some of the current upperclassmen have no business being starters. It's a problem brought about by, once again, lack of quality depth. Nonetheless, at one point you have to accept that your situation is far from perfect and put the best players on the field. You can always bench them for short periods later for poor practice habits, which teaches the same lesson, just from the perspective of taking something away rather than the perspective of not giving them opportunity in the first place.
He's full of it. I've seen nothing special about what he's calling. We play between 1-3 coverages all game. Cover 1, Cover 0, and cover 2 are most of what I see. Funny thing is we can't run the first two coverages(which we run primarily) with the players we're putting on the field.
Dooley and crew should've recruited better from jump street. He added only one real CB in Coleman's class. Knowing there was a need back there. Lanier and Moore were both tweeners with speed/hips that were better suited at Safety. He put his job on the backs of juco players like he was at K-State or something.
Lane has been the one player that I've read many think isn't a "practice" player, but has been put in games and has done well. IMO when u r in the situation to have a bunch of non-practice players it's very risky to take chances on them all at once. When you r either forced to or do take the chance with some then it's hit or miss. Cdd can't afford to take many chances cause probality is they will fail, and it just adds on to the pile of negativity.
Do you throw all the guys out there that aren't doing well in practice at once?? I wouldn't think that to be a good plan. So it has to be done little by little and mixed up. Luckily a couple guys got thier chance and showed well. Now he wishes he would have done it earlier, but that's the way things always go. Now hopefully he doesnt put his faith in them and it was just 1 good showing. If they stay consistent cdd can now take chances on some other guys that may not be ready.
Please understand that my issue with a lot of ecoaches is that they look at it from one angle....the employees angle. Not the mangers angle. The 2 angles are completely different. The employee doesn't always see why things r being done and b*tch and moan about how they would do things better. Yet they don't understand or ever know what the managers view and needs are. The situation cdd has been in needs to be looked at as much through the eyes of a Buisness Turnaround Expert (which I believe is one reason why CDD was brought in and given 5yrs originally) as a Coach. The situation cdd walked into required him to come in first with the BTE hat and then gradually move into Coach with time. This is why I'm a supporter of his and will remain one until I feel he has been given enough time and support.
Now if Hart and boosters believe CDD needs to go then to me that means that all the crap the program was in has been finally clean up. The next coach is going to be handed a team that he can just coach and not worry about anything else. This is why my stance is that whomever comes in better win 9+ min next yr, truly want 10+, but giving a little slack for a last second loss to a top team only. 2nd yr better bring a SECC and a birth to the NC playoff. This will be the only accepted outcome for me. I will not give hart or the new coach any slack. I give slack to CDD cause I feel his pain, and he deserves the time he was told he would be given IMHO.
Sunseri has never called plays on the FBS level, so I dont understand why so many fans thought he was going to be great from jump. He is still learning on the fly which is something UT didnt need. There was a reason Bama gave Kirby a raise to stay instead of promoting Sunseri to DC.
I've said that I should be running this program in what post Doc? The guy you're qouting is just trying to talk down on me. I said I wanted a new coach seeing how after 3 years nothing is changing at all.
Guy says I crowned myself the end all, in what post did I say this? In what post have I said that if I didn't say it then it's not right? I stated my opinion about Sal after watching him run a defense that's basic Football 101. Everyone knows you play zone if your guys can't play man all over. They just have to get physical in the zones. Asking AJ Johnson to cover a WR on a crossing route hasn't worked all year why would it start against Bama.
He's asking players to do things they physically can't do but he really doesn't care because his ego is too big to realize this won't start working. He allowed Bama's best WR to go 1 on 1 all game after he proved we couldn't handle him with one man. These are simple adjustments any D-Coordinator would make. For such a complicated system it's one of easiest defenses to predict coverage wise for an offensive coordinator.
I'd be on board.
i am just not in love with strong - my parents live in the ville so i still watch a lot of their games and his game management is not good - they should have lost last week to a 2-4 south florida team and almost lost to UNC as well this year
this is not a good team they are just playing an unbelievably bad schedule - he is lucky to have bridgewater and hasnt beaten a quality opponent in his time there
when petrino is available getting strong is ridiculous
U should expect great things but it shouldnt be that big of a surprise that its not working out from jump when its all dependant on a coach thats hasnt been a DC since 1999. Thats all im saying.
Since people are throwing names around
What do y'all think of Al Golden at Miami?
He did a really good job turning Temple around & has done pretty well this year with a Miami team that is low on scholarship players & very young. With the sanctions Miami has coming he may listen.
