OK, WARNING!!! Long and sappy. But here is why yall should consider Foster Parenting. Im a big fan.

My birthday post from one of our "kids" yesterday.

Since I was 16yrs old I got blessed with the best role models and parents in my life. It's amazing to have such giving, respectful, selfless people in my life. I was able to see the correct way to be parented and through actions and words learned what a dad should really be like. Although, I made many many mistakes growing up and I still do, I always know I can turn to the greatest dad in my life
and only be given the best advice without be bashed or judged. If you asked me 3 years ago what I would think of a dad it would be nothing like I think today. I got beyond blessed to be placed in the home of amazing parents that want nothing more than to help the world, better kids, and be the best people they can for anyone who walks into their lives, because of these people that walked into my life and told me I could be anything, gave me the courage I needed to better my life, turn it around, respect people, love and forgive, I will one day be a very successful person and always have a dad to stand by my side when I'm at my worst. You will always be a hero to me. I have the most amazing two sisters and little brother anyone could ask for, to be able to except anyone in their homes and give them a chance they need to is one of the most unselfish things a child could do, just to share their parents a be a best friend to a complete stranger is amazing. Along with a tender caring mom who has the biggest heart anyone can imagine. Although I am not always around and busy with school and work, not a day goes by I don't remember my family that helped me get on this successful path in my life! Your the awesomest person and dad anyone could have. I have the most respect for you to be able to do what you do while having the most positive outlook on life. I love you dearly. Happy birthday!... OLD FART. :)

what does being a loan officer have to do with foster care. You cant claim that money as income, mostly because it is NOT income.

Sure you can. In Tennessee at least. Ftr I turned down the loan on principal. Woman trying to buy a convertible 2 seater and had 5 foster kids.

Im glad you turned it down. I would say that if you have 5 fosters, you can build up a little money. There is some money left at the end of the month to help pay bills, no doubt. Thats what THAT portion of the money is for.

But 5 kids? That woman is probably much like some of them that we encounter here who are just in it for a paycheck, and the kids are no better off than the house they were taken out of.

ALSO: the reason it shouldnt be allowed for a loan is that it is not permanent income. Those kids can be sent somewhere else for many reasons, or age out. and the money is gone. Ive had an empty bed at my house for over a month now. If I was counting on that money to pay bills I would be screwed.
