Dooley will not be the coach next season.

One thing everyone is seeming to miss about bobby p is that he has never had anywhere close to the sec defense folks are cussing for right now. The all offense approach is similar to what we are dealing with right now.

Without researching it I'm betting his defenses didn't give up an average 500+ yards every game. I would take an average SEC defense and his offense any day.

His offense does tend to score quickly so the defense is on the field alot. He has also never had UT type money to shop for a DC. Haynes made 475 in 2011 as DC. We pay Sal 800. As bad as some think his defenses are....in 2011 they gave up about 20 points a game on average.

If you want Chaney gone, then there is no reason you should want Dooley to stay either.

I want them all gone, except Graham. If I was going to keep any of them, then it would be 1) Graham; 2) Hinshaw; 3) Sunseri.

I think Sunseri can be a good DC when he gets the players he is looking for. It's hard to convert to a 3-4 when you are thin at the LB position.

I think the players are no longer responding to Dooley but I felt like Chaney should have been #2 to go last year after Hiestand. I was blown away that Dooley kept him after we went game-after-game-after-game without scoring in the second half. I believe Dooley sealed his fate in the off-season when he did not fire Chaney.

Even this year, if you look at "the game" that began the landslide, you see that our offense shutdown in the second half of the Florida game. We have not recovered since.

Defense is bad, offense is pathetic.

I'd jump on that bandwagon. I think Petrino knows he can't afford another misstep. Someone's gonna give him another chance and he'll make them a winner cause the dude can flat out coach. Why wouldn't we want that?
So can Strong, Patterson and Tressel. Would much rather pursue them in that order, if Gruden is indeed out of the question.

No one is out of the question if the right people open their wallets but i would think gruden is unlikely.

After the last few years, I'm prepared to be disappointed.

Not crazy about Tressel the guy couldn't beat the SEC with top tier talent at Buckeye U. I would really like to see Strong or Gruden personally.

Decision has been made. This should be no surprise.

I'm very surprised at how much respect this post is getting. This "decision that has been made" would be an ignorant one at this point (when Dooley still has the chance to go 8-4, 9-4 with a bowl win).

If Dooley goes 9-4 and still gets fired, what would that do to the coaching search? ANY coach in the country would say "You want me to take this job when you fired a guy who went 9-4 in the best conference in football, in the 3rd year of his rebuilding season? And the tipping point was after a loss to the best team in the country?"

Hopefully Hart isn't that stupid. I don't think he would be where he is if he was.

The "decision is made" MAYBE after Dooley can go 7-5 or 6-6 at best.

Stupid thread is stupid.

Keep drinking the Kool Aid..... If you think Dooley can win, you are crazy. Look at the product on the field, has it improved??? NO! Its time to pull the plug and get a big name coach in here who can win immediately before UT Football dies. Wake up man!
