I took it as Tennessee wanted him to say no so it at least looked like they made an effort for a big hire to satisfy the fans. When really, they wanted a cheaper hire all along.

It does look promising.

We are in the negative, and if they gave Gruden 10 million it would pay for itself the first year easily if you go off what Saban did. They make stoopid money off that investment.

I think what he means is we will go after him aggressively and make him turn us down. But it won't be for a lack of trying, or money...hopefully.
