Dooley will not be the coach next season.

In hindsight, I'm glad it fell through. People would be pushing for Shannon to the be new coach if he was on staff instead of someone like Gruden.

I agree, we were in such a mess when Dooley came in. It would have taken a coaching yoda to have us winning against top SEC teams at this point. That said, I do think we should be doing better at this point.

If true... I hope we get a coach that isn't a piece of $*~t! Dooley was atleast a good person and respectable in public opinion. I like Dools... he's just not ready for NFL jr.

Yet she increased her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth when she engaged in prostitution in the land of Egypt. She lusted after their genitals – as large as those of donkeys, and their seminal emission was as strong as that of stallions.

Prostitution? Donkeys? Genitals? Wow, are we looking for a coach in Tijuana?

Guess you have at least 2 accounts.

Nope, govols/cc, I have but ONE (1) account. I am a Vol fan, but I have some friends down at Bama. Actually, I would love to see all SEC tams beat all non-SEC teams in every sport - EXCEPT when they play the VOLS. However, my allegiance is 100% to THE University of TENNESSEE Volunteers... and has been since 1968!

Go Vols!... Go Vols!... Go Vols!... (Thats it... keep on chanting it... Go Vols!...)

Decision has been made. This should be no surprise.

He's was interim all along in my view.

On another note, I noticed that my neighbor removed his Power T sticker from his SUV today. It had been on there for a long time.

Not sure if he's embarrassed, said screw it or little of both.

It don`t work that way! Alabama had more talent than we do when Saban came in and his highest win total in his first four years was seven...Spurrier had about the same talent level as we do and his highest win total in his first four years was six! Be very careful what you wish for...You may get it!

So you think Dooley is headed where Saban and Spurrier currently are with Bama and SC?

I'm not sure this program would improve next and subsequent seasons if Dooley remains. Someone said in another thread he was "snakebit." There seems to be some truth to that. But it seems that in important games (in the last 3 years) there has been a very noticeable lack of preparation. I think as a coach you either have it or you don't. I just don't think he's got what it takes. We need to cut our losses.

I'll take Petrino, he's a proven winner and i dont care about his "issues" he wins ball games.. bottom line..

jdbeard, I like your opinion regarding the possible hire of Petrino, but it comes with reservations. A coache's "issues" may get to the point of bringing NCAA sanctions down on a school if those "issues" are not settled in the appropriate manner. I truly hope that Petrino's "issues" are settled to the administration's satisfaction prior to a UT hire. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

God I hope and pray that when the new coach is announced its a home run hire!! it better be a coach on the caliber of saban or Tressel or Meyer..if we do get a coach on that level we prob can expect at least 9 wins next season and possibly 10 after that and then by year 3 be national contenders again....

Why wouldnt it be?? with a great caliber coach and a great staff and recruiting I would expect immediate results first year..and then keep improving each year after that...if we did get a really good coach then by year 3 I really could see UT ranked in the top 10 again....

Definitely agree 100%. By Year 6 of new coach, I think we'd be looking at 18-20 wins each regular season.

They better go on and get on the ball with this next hire, before others start entering coaching search mode as well.

CDD needs to be gone by no later than the Monday after USCe...

It is not as simple as that... To be honest CDD is not a POS and deserves to be treated with respect... I can promise you that he gave it his all, but it hasn't worked out very well...

Also the name Dooley carries a lot weight... The name also includes Vince and Barbara... The whole family is thought of highly through out most the coaching profession and potential candidates will pay close attention to how it plays out...

If/When CDD is let go it will be for lack of improvement... not because he is a bad guy...

Sure it is a business decision if it happens, but it needs to be handled the right way...

The bad taste of the Fulmer fiasco still lingers for some folks..... Like him or hate him, he had a lot of pull and influence...

There were no NCAA issues that I know of. Win and keep your nose clean with the NCAA is all that matters. Personal life is just that!

Proven winner!!! Our luck would be he ends up at Auburn!

Did the bammers feel guilty celebrating last night because they have a scum bag for a coach???

Petrino has mostly proven that he's a flake and quitter in everything he does. It happened when he quit on the Atlanta Falcons after one year and it happened when he quit on his wife in favor of a new model. If we hire him, we'll get the same stuff. He's always trading in what he does for a new model. BEWARE as it's happened everywhere he's been.

Yea all interim coaches have a 5,000,000 dollar buyout in their contract.

but you must have missed this fine piece of journalism. Tennessee just needs to win and Tressel is a man who knows how to make that happen. Look, i know it probably won't happen, but hey, it's a message board, where men can say whatever we want and let others do the same. I would like to hear the opinions of others after they read this article:
Jim Tressel could get hired after flimsy NCAA show-cause penalty - Andy Staples - SI.com

Have at it fellas!
