Dooley will not be the coach next season.

Everyone was wrong last time. Looks like we were at the precipice of a Shannon deal before it all fell apart. Too much smoke. I also wouldn't put it past hart to disseminate misinformation, see where it leaked from, and purge the moles. Witness the multiple turnover in the ad. Misinformation will prob be leaked again this time, but not about Dools being let go, just who his replacement will be.

Should probably add the caveat that no decision has been made because it is still possible to run the table and a bowl game and finish 9-4.

I'm not endorsing that as a prediction, I'm stating that no decision will be made until much later in the season than this.

I understand that this is probably the best thing to do, but don't say there was not progress because there was. Just not much/enough. Now we have a few more years to wait with a new system/coach coming in. Time to start over.... again.

I am not saying we can. Although what happens if we win out? Right now we look to go 6-6 maybe 5-7. I actually think KY beats us. With a high possibility that Vandy does as well.

I believe Dooley has known this. He certainly seemed to know it last night. His whole demeanor had that "doesn't matter" look.

I hope your right because if Dooley is a lame duck coach. the players, like bray and some coaches will check out. We won't win another game.....so if he has been told he is done at end of season..pull the fing trigger Monday am

Have you seen any games this year? We'll be lucky to not go 4-9.

So a man that knows his job is lost and the game "doesn't matter" begs his dr to allow him to be on the sidelines putting his health at risk?

I don't think many could claim Dooley isn't a respectable and honorable man.

He's just not good enough at his current profession.

There is a lot circulating out there about who knew what and when, but you know as well as I do, if Dooley is gone he is building a "resume" with every game he still coaches.

Merely my opinion, but from Zas, if he is being public with the info, I would venture to say that others in the AD are talking about it too. It will get picked up by the media and Dooley will be let go during the season--not after.

No way he makes it through the season. No way this is addressed after every upcoming loss. And no chance that they announce Dooley won't return next season but still is retained to finish up the season.

I look for it to happen after the SC game. The remaining schedule should be manageable for an interim. But I would say that Hart does not want to find himself scraping the bottom of the coaching barrel during a late search, competing with Arky, Auburn, Kentucky and others that will be looking for a new coach after the season.

Also, Dooley will not be officially fired. He will "resign," after negotiating an agreed upon amount that allows him to save face and allows the University to save some money.

If and when it happens publicly it will be interesting to see if that is the case. I wonder if UT has some leverage to renegotiate some of the buyout terms.

I meant that he had that look of "It doesn't matter what I do; this is hopeless." Whatever is wrong with the chemistry between these coaches and these players has not been fixable-- for whatever reason-- by the current personnel.
