I am interested to see our WRs vs their secondays.

Their biggest edge the past years was theyve had GREAT Dbs, so they bring all these exotic blitzes..

(Mark Barron,Dequan Menzey,Dre Kirkpatric, Kareem Jackson) all those guys could hold up in coverage during those blitzes..

If we can pick up these blitzes and give bray some time, I like our chances of being able to hit big plays and having a chance late in this game

We definitely have the best OL they've faced all year. If we can give Bray time and run enough to keep them honest, we'll put up some points.

Miliner is the best DB Saban has had down at Bama. Those other guys never had to face a Tyler Bray led squad. However it won't matter today. Our offense is going to punish them. Our defense will hell I don't know hopefully step up for the win today. We hold them under 30 we'll win this game today. They won't stop this offense all day.

Iirc coming into the season this is what everyone said was his main role this yr. Wish he was the total package like we've had in the past but isn't especially with him being so prone to injury.

He overcomes one only to succumb to another. He could hang up his cleats and walk away, instead he keeps fighting back. Indicative of his mental discipline and toughness. The kid is a warrior.

Hey BB...would it be reasonable to think that CDD implemented the 3-4 this yr cause he had confidence in the ability of the O to score high #s? Like 40+ per game easily. This would be able to hide the growing pains of the transition. Just hasn't gone as planned but there were many opportunities left out there by the O. Also with the big players...bray, JH, cp, dr...being jrs with the possibility of leaving after this yr. I know he has wanted to do implement it all along, but saw this yr as his best window to do so.

What do u think the effect of losing DR had on the Os inability to be the high scoring O it really does have the potential of being?

Hey oskie_score...what do u think about the above?

Bama Day, GO VOLS!!!!

I hope the atmosphere is great, as I would expect it will be.

Should build through the game as we maintain a lead as well.

Texas A&M is in year one of the Sumlin era what I wish Tennessee was in year three of the Dooley era.

Yeah I wish fulmer and Kiffin would have left what Sherman left Sumlin too. Just like what Briles left him at Houston. He just needed one thing to hit just right and that was a QB that will fit Klingsbury O and they did. A scrapy hard worker like JM from Kerrville TX. Can't get more scrappy than TX Hill country 4A football.

Other than UF and maybe La tech thier schedule hasn't been that impressive enough to compare.

In a nut shell...Shermin did what cdd has been doing...rebuilding. Powers at be at tamu got nervous entering the SEC and got rid of him. Sure they got a coach that will come in and be able to not mess things up but hasnt proven he can sustain it long term. He left UH at the top and when he was losing his top player. A player he inherited. Klingsbury will be poached in the next couple of yrs too if not earlier. I would think he will be on the top of UTex's list of top coordinators to take a chance on at HC if they want to go that route if m brown "retires.".

@bradsmelley: I hate everything about the Vols. Except playing there, I love making Tennessee quit in front of their own fans there at Neyland.

Can we please shut this fool up tonight? It would seriously make my year if we beat them.

U need to tweet him back and tell him welcome auburn fans to Neyland West. Make your self at home. :)

Offense hasn't been a problem period even without DR and Clear(who would've made the offense unstoppable literally). Defense is all of the problem and it's beyond growing pains right now. Sunseri's ego is ridiculous seeing that he's going run whatever even if we can't even line up right.

No quick answer but I'll try to keep it short...

CDD's interest in the 3-4 began before Tennessee. Hiring DCSS was his opportunity.

Expectation of the 3-4 base "D"? Three dn linemen, allowing for another LB, get more athletes and more speed on the field, attempt to disrupt and confuse the offense by bringing pressure, but try to keep the defense behind the pressure reasonably safe and make where the pressure is coming from unpredictable.

We knew that the transition would be difficult. Tennessee's biggest issues have been poor execution---mental mistakes and alignment errors.

Let's look at UGA, when Grantham installed the 3-4 @ UGA in '10 the "D" gave up an avg og 30+ pts/gm in five of their first eight SEC gms. In '11 UGA limited thirteen of nineteen opps to 20pts or less/gm. '12 has shown even more improvement---before Tennessee and USCe UGA avg 16.5pts/gm.

Here's hoping our high-octane "O" produce enough while we overcome the "D"'s growing pains.

Regarding DR and CC, you always hate to lose talent, but in DR's and CC'S case it was for the best.

Yeah I forgot about Clear. Geez how time flies. My question was more if it is reasonable to think this was his thought process in the spring for making the transition. All before losing big time players and obviously knowing how Sals "ego" would be during games.
