I was out of town all week and arrived back at Hartsfield Jackson this afternoon. The wife was scheduled to pick me up, but my father offered to pick me up.

He's a Bama fan. Born and raised there. I went to UT.... lulz

I told him, "I refuse to be anywhere near bammers this week."

Like he cares after they win by 40.

Actually, I think the Vols pull a miracle ending and win a high-scoring game. Instant classic. Which likely means that Dools would keep his job... still worth a bama win in trade-off. heh

I'd take 2013. Shows some form of hope.

Beating Alabama and ruining their shot at a third national championship in four years would be the greatest sports result for me in a lot of years. I don't even care what happens with Dooley if he could pull that off. Extension, raise, I don't care.

Would be sweet.

My grandfather installed in me the hate of Bama. Part of the problem was we kicked Bama's ass when I grew up, and UF was "the enemy". I do know better. The problem is the importance of the game in terms of divisions. And it's so ****ing sad because it will happen to the best rivalry in college football (OSU-Michigan). In fifteen years, there will be an 18 year old that says "Who cares about Ohio State?"

I'm already depressed.

I made this argument a couple years ago when they put OSU and Michigan in opposite divisions. It'll kill their rivalry just like it did ours with the Forrest Gumps.

I know it's an anachronism, but this has been the most important day in the sports calendar in my family for at least 60 years. I'll call my dad tomorrow about 30 minutes before kickoff and we'll talk about the game. At kickoff, I'll clink my whiskey with my wife's and whoever else is here watching the game as usual, but tomorrow I'll reach up and clink it on a picture of my dead grandfather too. This is the game.

I am hoping to be able to call my dad about 30ms after the game and see if he wants to talk about it. He won't answer if it goes poorly for the ramajamagaybammers.

I didn't want to believe you, but it's true. What also helped (weirdly enough) was OSU getting Urban Meyer. Rekindled the rivarly some, but there's no doubt it's not going to be the same. Can't wait for my kid to be like "Who cares about Ohio State...I hate Nebraska more!"

I'm not going to lie. I have no idea what it is. But I have this weird feeling he will play well. I don't know about a win, but I think we got a chance.

I just really wish we would have beaten MSU so Neyland would be rocking. ****.

Your dad is one of them? Ewwwwww. Apparently the WORST part of you ran down the back of your momma's ass and ended up as a brown stain on the mattress. Lucky guy.

I can't blame him. He's born and raised there.

I do not believe that I share the same hatred for bama as yourself, as I tend to have a whole more negative disposition for the team in Athens. They just irk me more than the others I suppose.

I ****ing can't stand Georgia. Dear God.

The sad part is it's irrefutable, rationally speaking. The division games mean more. Forget Florida, Georgia is more important than Alabama. The Cocks are more important than Alabama. It's depressing.

Unless they realign, within 10 years OSU/Michigan will be an old man's game just like UT/Alabama. At the very least they need to move it earlier in the year. Can you imagine an OSU/Michigan game with nothing on the line because they're going to meet again in a rematch in a week?
