As with previous weeks, our biggest obstacles will be stopping the running game and covering the slot wr/te (any matchup essentially where our S/LBs are forced to cover). Teams outside recievers have virtually been ineffective against us.

If we can cover Kenny Bell and Volger, I think we'll be 'ok'. And, yes, I know Cooper is thought to be their big play WR but see my point above.

Could landing commits from Derek Green and Marquez North over the next month or so help Dooley keep his job?

Could be a big selling point.

McCullers, Sentimore, and Couch have to be big for us this weekend. We know Sentimore is going to schow up.

Our LBs are going to have to make plays. Their RBs are good enough to get past the line. This is probably the biggest game for our LBs if we expect to win.

I say stack the box and make AJ and a couple of their young wideouts beat us. AJ, like Bray, isn't nearly as efficient when he's on the move.

If we can somehow force him to his left, we're cooking with Crisco.

AJ is a very efficient passer. We can't simply bank on him being the weak link. I agree, we will have to stack the box most of the game. Bama's TEs could really hurt us in the pass game because we have yet to have an LB that can match one.

Rumor that Tennessee will get Auburn next year instead of Mississippi State.

With 6 division games and 1 permanent cross-division opponent, the SEC will no longer have home-and-away games between cross-division opponents in consecutive years. Instead, teams will get a home game in year 1, then away game in year 2, etc...but it will be against a different cross-division opponent.

Sitting here next Hubber and he's saying there's chatter out there that when the SEC releases its 2013 schedule Tennessee may have Auburn on the schedule instead of Mississippi State. We'll find out at 3 p.m.

I believe our SEC West opponents will be as follows:

2012 - Bama, @ MSU
2013 - @ Bama, Auburn
2014 - Bama, @ Texas A&M
2015 - @ Bama, Mississippi
2016 - Bama, @ LSU
2017 - @ Bama, Arkansas

SEC moving to 9 conference games is always a possibility though. If it doesn't I can see the above being about right. At least hope to see the Vols in TX in a couple yrs :)

A 9-game conference schedule changes everything. If we stay with an 8-game conference schedule, then look for this to be our schedule.

Below would likely be our 2018-2023 opponents.

2020 - Bama, @ Mississippi
