Do you not understand that building anything begins with building an infrastructure. And whether it's sports, business, etc... it takes TIME. We live in such a "what have you done for me lately" society that it's laughable.

How people cannot understand what he agreed to take over when literally zero proven coached wanted any part of it is beyond me. I will admit that I have had my emotional reactions after games like anyone else, but you have to let sensibility take over at some point.

To do what he has done in only 3 years is nothing short of amazing, to be honest. I can't think of any better a job that could have been done in terms of program administration than what Dooley has done considering what he inherited.

Anyone...I repeat, anyone is going to make some mistakes along the way. Chuck Smith was obviously a mistake, as was Hiestand, but he recognized them and fixed them. Not having a RB coach was a mistake, and what Jay Graham has now done is nothing short of amazing, either. You can clearly see the improvements. Just have patience.

What's happening to Dooley now is why nobody wanted to come here and do it.

Bottomline line is the mood would be completely different aroun here if he beats KY last year, and wins one of UF, UGA, or MSU. SMH, even that is 1-12 vs ranked teams, but that is fine if you give the guy a mulligan for his first two years.

A competent coaching staff could have done that. They definitely could have beaten KY last year.

What happening to Dooley know is of his own making. Nobody was saying this crap (at least not in these numbers) the last two years. I wasn't. KY and MSU were the straw breakers for me. To me, those are indefensible losses.

Exactly...he walked into a no win situation, and has done a good job of building the roster.

If people thought we were going to win the SEC in three years, then they just set themselves up for disappointment.

The losses this year have hurt, and they've hurt in part because we were so close. However, I just can't get on a "fire everyone" bandwagon because we haven't beaten three teams that are all in the top 15.

Your use of the English language is indefensible.

About Darrington Sentimore:

"He said he regretted going to alabama because of saban and that he wants this game more than any other because he wants to beat saban."

Sentimore gave credit to Lance Thompson for him picking UT out of JUCO. He said Dooley also played a critical role in his recruitment and that Dooley is a good recruiter.

Tino Thomas and Jason Croom have the same shoulder problem. Their shoulders continue to pop in and out of place. Jason has had successful surgery, and Tino will likely have surgery, too.

I know you aren't singling me out with the "gleefully" comment, but I have yet to talk to a fellow Vol fan who gleefully talks about the prospect of UT getting waxed by Bama.

I have hope, but realistically I can't see us competing with Bama for the entire 60 minutes.

Gleefully was a poor choice of words on my part. I'm not sure what I would use to describe it, but I was mainly referencing the loons in the FF who seem to spend hours disceting just how bad UT will get beat.

You're making a lot of good points in the other posts, glad to see them!

When you say things like you are saying, it hard for me to envision you being successful at anything that requires vision and patience to accomplish.

Its hard for me to take anyone serious who feels the need to call out proper grammar and spelling on a fan message board.

I like the recruiting forum and think it offers some good information. But some of you think this is way more serious than it really is. I really question the maturity and life priorities of some people that follow these high school kids on facebook and twitter, and hang on every quote they give to the media. And having inside information is fine and all, I like to read it....but there are some that identify themselves with the amount of e-cred they have.

1) Didn't say anything about spelling or grammar

2) What does following kids on FB or Twitter (two practices I despise being done by anyone) have to do with whether or not Dooley is doing a good job and getting the program back to relevance? Nice deflection.

Go back and read my give and take with OCI. He wants to call me out on grammar, of all things, while he posts in absolutes about stuff that isn't absolute. If you are going to interject, it would be instructive to see what I was actually talking about and who I was talking to before jumping to conclusions about what I was saying about "you".

And as far as Dooley is concerned, I think he is doing a good job building a foundation for the future, but I absolutely don't think he is the man to get us over the hump.

I was all aboard the Dooley train until the KY game last year, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt until last Saturday. That is where I stand.

You quoted MTSUDaff in your post about grammar.

Dooley said and those who saw all of practice called it one of their best days and that they had a lot of energy. The the players were fired up in the locker room after practice and those you talked to called it a really good day as well.

Neal didn't practice with the team. He worked out some on the side rehabbing his ankle.

Curt Maggitt didn't have a red jersey on and said he was playing Saturday as he battles the toe injury and the shoulder injury.

Bray is wearing the style of brace you see NFL qb's wearing these days. Manning's, Brady, etc. It looks like a lineman's brace. Bray said it was not limiting him at all. As he noted, he's not a dual threat guy.

Sentimore might not have had praise for Saban but he did have alot of respect in talking about the Alabama program and the defense they run and how you couldn't have a bad day. If you did someone was taking your job.

One other thing on Saban, Sentimore said you would pass him in the hall and he wouldn't speak to you unless you were a player he liked.

And finally, just for clarification because alot of people have throw stuff out there about buyouts and all that. Here is the buyout info that's accurate with Dooley.

It's 5 million dollars. It drops to 4 million on February 16, 2013 and according to the contract, it's payable over 36 months.

So apparently UT is conducting a survery to UT students trying to figure out why they aren't going to the home games......that won't go well.
