One thing I took away from Sat night is that Ms State made the plays when they needed to. Tennessee, though in my eyes appeared to be the more skilled team, choked at key moments. That is usually not a great indicator for good coaching. Ms State appeared to be the better coached team, they won the turnover game and gave up less big plays.

BS....the Kentucky game set this program back a year. I remember leading for a lot of players this time last year. Mediocrity is killing progress. Lack of attention to detail is killing progress. Fans are just pointing both of those things out.

Great analysis. So DY's fumble was a matter of poor coaching? How about BM dropping the INT...poor coaching? People just want a scapegoat and Dooley's the chosen target.

Lane and Neal getting injured to put DY in position to fumble is obviously poor coaching as well.

Counting players, extra points, clock management, play calling, pursuit angles, down and distance situations, timeouts, preparation, getting on a pooch kick off.....haven't seen this team play for 4 quarters yet.

The thing that probably worries me more about the future of our team is our style of play. We are a soft team. In the Fulmer golden age, we won with a stout Chavis D, a great running game, and great qbs. We played smash-mouth football! If you want to be good in the SEC that is the blueprint. LSU, South Carolina, Alabama, now Florida all could be described by what we used to do. You have to get up for 6 or 7 tough games per year in the SEC and you have to have a hard nosed team. Now, we have a finesse offense that passes on 2nd and 3rd and 1 against Mississippi St on 1 series for crying out loud and a defense that is probably going to be the first team in history to have over 40 hung on us 3 weeks in a row. We are SOFT! If I felt like we were going the way that Muschamp has taken Florida, then I would have more confindence in our future, but as of now, I'm just unsure. I hope we are truly improving, I'm just still waiting on the results. Every time they fix 1 area ie) running game and Oline, then they take 10 steps back in another ie) defense and special teams.

Okay then--what will your excuse be in 2013 if we go 6-6 or worse?

We'll be underdogs to Oregon, Florida, Georgia, Bama, and South Carolina. All likely losses. That's 7-5 AT BEST. Miss. State could beat us again next year too. Now we're 6-6, but wait, we still have Mizzou, except we play at their place. 5-7 is a possibility. Vandy will be in year 3 under Franklin and making big strides. 4-8 isn't out of the question.

Do wins not matter anymore?

Dooley has proven he can't beat any teams that are even CLOSE to our talent level (Miss. State), let alone matching it (Florida) or exceeding it (Georgia).

He has, however, proven that he can lose to teams with inferior talent (Kentucky).

People complained because we didn't run the ball well last year, now that we're running the ball well, people neither give credit nor acknowledge the improvement in the O-Line and running game this year. Should the coaches get credit for that or is that just a matter of players maturing and figuring it out on their own? It goes both ways.

Key example, fumbling the ball! Holding on to the ball as tight as you can with the mental determination that no one in the world can take it from you. SOFT silly mistakes..

Well coached teams find ways to win close games. We don't.
I'm not saying that Dooley's a bad coach. I'm actually a supporter, but he needs to start producing. We are half way through his guys' junior years. Time for some wins. The players may be at fault, but the buck stops with the coaches.

Do you actually watch the games? We have to lead the country in timeouts due to to many players on the field.

This team constantly makes little mistakes well coached teams don't.

Its pretty obvious CP needs to be getting the ball.

Is it a rule in college or by choice that you drop 2 guys back.

In the Nfl the formation is one guy back and 2 blockers in front.

Like with the bears Devin Hester is always the only one back. and is getting the ball no matter what.

Pretty sure it's by choice. Never heard of a rule that dictates how many returners you use.

This is the only specific example. The others are either vague or have absolutely nothing to do with failure to pay attention to detail.

Someone on the sideline for the Florida game told me that the he could hear the air going out of the balloon the minute we missed an extra point.

I give the coaches a lot of credit for that. Pittman and Graham were 2 excellent hires. The running game is tremendously improved over last year.

Just last sar'dy we had ten players on the field and allowed a TD....that is not a lack of attention to detail?

The coaches should get credit. But, it really only matters if the rest of your team, ie) defense and special teams don't go to hell.
I should get credit if I quit drinking too much, but only so much if at the same time I take up a crack habit. (outrageous example for rhetorical purpose only.)

Yeah, don't know why Dooley did not run down to the field and make sure all eleven players were on the field...oh wait, he was in the press box
