We are now halfway through the season, and I just wanted to list a few things we can build on. Please don't turn this into another butt hurt thread.

- The defense played well against the Miss St. run. They only averaged 3.5 ypc. Compared to UF and GA who averaged a combined 7.5 ypc, this is a drastic improvement.

- Devrin Young and Q Watson came in to the ball game and produced late in the game. I thought they both ran with good vision and physicality which surprised me.

- The offensvive line continues to improve. We finally rushed for over 200 yards and averaged a very impressive 6.3 ypc.

- ZR continues to catch the ball consistently. His game is night and day from last year.

- They are creating ways to get the ball in CP's hands. Lining him up in the back field is just another option.

- Coleman and Mcneil are going to be good players for us in the future, they just need a little more experience.

- We are continuing to show fight even when we get down early. I hate the end result just as much as anyone, but glad they are not giving up.

Go Vols!!!

we make one less mistake, we win. we had a lot of mistakes and still was in very good position to win that game up until about 3 min left.

i hate the outcome, but we cannot give up on this team as a fanbase. if we do, they will give up on the field, and our program will be an embarrassment as all our remaining inferior opponents will be treating our game as their 'super bowl'.

Another positive was J. Smith's play. I saw him after the QB all game, including 1 sack and several QB hurries. He was hitting hard and playing with reckless abandon. It only took him 2 and a half years.

But as they say once is an occurance, twice is a coincidence and three times is a trend. Let's see if he can keep it up.

I was impressed with Pig's speed. The first time he lined up in the wildcat, he was past the line of scrimmage LONG before the linebackers had a chance to get over there. THe second time, he was stuffed at the line, but he did try to run it off tackle, and when the defense saw him back there, they knew what was coming.

But I digress--my point is that's

I support this team 100%. I do question heavily why we are a mess on defense. I also question effort on hunters part. He is better than he is playing.

I hope someone can solve the defensive woes ASAP.

Go vols!

I like hearing something positive about the Vols for a change. You just reminded me that Tennessee still has potential and will prove everyone wrong. Great Thread Bro.

They needed to make the defensive halftime adjustments after the first drive.

Young did have a very nice game but I wonder where Lane was.

ZR has earned the right to play ahead of Hunter... and no I'm not kidding. I love the way JH used to play... but he hasn't been that player this year.

CP would be awesome if he were more experienced. He needs to go hard on every play though. He takes plays off.

I thought Coleman and Waggner were actually pretty solid. MSU picked on UT's LB's and S's.

At first glance I thought the title of this thread was 'A few prostitutes from the game'

I'm affraid Hunter is now playing like Jamal Lewis did after he got hurt. Not going all out because they didn't want to get hurt again before the draft. Hope I'm wrong.

A thread in the Football Forum that actually discusses football has 17 posts in over 2 hours. Shocking.

There were definitely positives! I believe if we could have gotten the ball back on the last drive, we win...

We played two well ranked teams back to back and only lost by 10 points or less on both.

Each game we've played this year we've scored NO LESS than 35 points per game.
