Why is it that what is acceptable at South Carolina, has to be acceptable at Tennessee?

SC's instate talent is not enough to make it easier to rebuild. SPurrier recruits Georgia better than SC. That is only true in Georgia, Florida, California, and Texas. It is much easier to rebuild Tennessee than USCe.

I don't think our fanbase has expected to win big in 3 years, but I think it's reasonable to go better than 4-15 in the SEC.

When you are down yes you do. You are not going to be able to beat out teams like FL,LSU,BAMA,USC for the top notch recruits as much as you would when you are up.

Ever wonder why those teams have been up so long. They get 6-10 easy recruits that are in their backyards. then they can pick and choose from national recruits.

We were talking about the first 3 years of Dooley compared to the first 3 years of Spurrier, even then UT should still out recruit USCe. There is reason why Oregon, South Carolina, and Wisconsin can't ever bring in those elite classes.

Its so much better than TNs that it makes a good impact. and gives you those +-6 guys every year that you can rely on being quality players

I think what may/could force Harts hand is what will attendance be like this Saturday & through Nov., the '08 Bama game did Fulmer in when their fans took over Neyland. If we lose these next 2 games there may not be 90,000 show up for the Troy game.

Also, we were tied at half at Bama with Matt Simms as our QB, nothing that even resembled a run game, and Darick Rogers as our only threat at the WR position. Granted our defense was playing better last year. Not sure if we pull it out, but I would be shocked if Bama covers the spread, and if we can keep it close until the fourth quarter who knows.

The potential 7-5 record doesn't bother me so much. It's the fact that Dooley has been outcoached in every game so far this season (except for NC State and maybe GSU) and has shown nothing to make me believe he is the long term answer here. He said himself that "You aren't going to have Tennessee to push around anymore." But yet we are looking at a possible 7-5 record with the best win being NC State, Mizzou, or Vandy. Maybe if given a 4th year he'll turn it around. I'm just not very optimistic.
