Last night, perfect pass, into double or triple coverage... off the hands.

Listen, I'm out of this conversations because I'm pissed about the game, and if I keep trying to prove my point, y'all gonna say I think Hunter is overrated or no good or something. This other fella talks about how players recover from ACL injuries after a year, but calls me crazy when I mention Marlin Lane's struggles. One way street only I guess. Whatever. I stand by my statements. Peace. :hi:

Keep telling yourself Hunter isn't ready for the NFL because he drops a couple of passes like every single receiver does.

You actually have people on here who think Hunter isn't a bonafide 1st round pick?

no. You see it is just my above post coming into fruition as people escalate and overreact in a discussion.

Never said that. I am critiquing his production on the field this year, as well as projecting that he may not be the #1 receiver in the nation.

Incidentally, I just watched the NC State Offensive plays, since I am obsessed, and we discussed this eariler. :)

Hunter has one pass stripped by a DB.

Hunter has another one on the goal line that is between a drop and a strip, but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Hunter has a clear drop, right between the numbers on a short 4th down conversion.

I would call that one drop and a couple of good defensive plays. I believe in later games, it will get worse. I'll see if I have time to watch those at some point.

I said he had drops in the NC State game. He also had a costly drop in the UF game, but if it wasn't for Hunter knocking the ball out of the defenders hands twice, Bray throws at least 2 more picks in the UF game. He easily made up for that one.The NC State game was his first game back in pads playing against a team in almost a year. He was going to be a little bit rusty. You can't practice for that, you have to play games and get comfortable again, which he easily is right now.

If we go 7-5, the only way I see us firing Dooley is if a true HR hire is available and has agreed to accept the job...Gruden is the only HR hire I can think of. If not, I think it's a bad move to have your 4th HC in 6 years, and a Kirby Smart-type hire could easily produce similar results. There's something to be said for stability and continuity in a program.

And I'll give him credit for the positives, but lets not be blind to the negatives.

Anyway, lets move on and be friends again

For some reasons our fans don't think Hunter is ready. It baffles me how TN fans overrated Darick yet underrate Hunter.

You are just not understanding the point. I do not think he is mentally ready. He is a GREAT player and if he goes I hope my Dolphins pick him up. I am a fan of JH11. I just think he would benefit greatly by staying another year. At the end of the day it is his choice and if he feels it is the best option for him then it is. :hi:

It is not an attempt to say he sucks. His experience is just too minimal and mentally he seems pretty raw at the moment. I'm just saying that I would not be surprised if his draft stock fell on Draft day. Obviously I hope he is picked #1. :peace2:

i damn sure wouldnt want hunter as my teams 1st pick dude has to show out against some good teams first

id rather have patterson

I agree 100%. If UT cant get a Gruden or Stoops caliber hire unfortunately we need to accept mediocrity for another year.

I haven't been blind. He had a costly drop against uf and some bad drops against nc state. Ill even give you the one last night even though I don't agree with it all. You take away his first game back and he has had maybe 3 or 4 drops. Only one bad one. Uga fans said the same exact thing with aj greene

Lol, I love debates like this I'm not upset or anything.

Hunter has been doubled or even tripled in every sec game. UF and UGA sacrificed giving Patterson single coverage to make sure Hunter won't kill them. Our running game is amazing because of Hunter. Safeties can never play in the box because of Hunter. Hunter is the most important player to UT.

Dooley is 0-13 against ranked opponents during his tenure at UT. Below are our opponents' rankings at the time we played them over the last three years. It's interesting that Dooley has never played a team ranked #20 through #25.

2010
#7 Oregon - 13-48
#10 Florida - 17-31
@ #12 LSU - 14-16
#6 Alabama - 10-41
#17 South Carolina - 24-38

2011
@ #16 Florida - 23-33
#1 LSU - 7-38
@ #2 Alabama - 6-37
@ #14 South Carolina - 3-14
@ #8 Arkansas - 3-49

2012
#18 Florida - 20-37
@ #5 Georgia - 44-51
@ #19 Mississippi State - 31-41

I know no one in this thread thinks Hunter sucks, but seriously Hunter doesn't have anything else to learn. I don't see how he could benefit by staying an extra year. I hope he comes back, but there is really no need for him to stay unless he wants to give UT fans more wins.

I'm not upset with any of the ranked losses the first 2 years. Hell, I thought Dooley did a great job his first year here. It was this year's losses against UF and Miss State is what has me worried. IMO its silly to critque Dooley for any game before this year besides UK.

I think this is a fair assessment, though I take exception to the one last night.

That being said, I agree with you that Hunter did save several poorly placed passes against UF.

I would love for him to have better body language on the field sometimes. It just seems like he hangs his head a lot. However, there have been a TON of big time receivers that act far and away worse on the field. Hunter is by no means the star attitude guy, and I respect that quite a bit.

I hope he torches the rest of our competition, and goes in the top 5.

I can't fault Dooley for losing those games in his first 2 seasons, he was completely out matched talent wise.

100% was gonna post this

Stability.....

Did you want Fulmer fired? If so, what year were you ready for him to be let go?

What did you think about the Kiffin hire? Were you disappointed to see him go?

What did you think of the Dooley hire? When were you ready to see him go?
