So, do you think that sticking with Dooley is a more sound investment? Maybe another gamble on an unproven like say Smart? All I am saying is of the names being tossed around right now, it's Gruden by a mile. There are questions that can be asked about whoever you bring up. The key is gambling on the closest thing to a sure thing. That is Gruden, imo.

Doyle there is no question that Gruden has the charisma to draw in recruits. I just don't buy into the idea that Gruden could bring the program along fast enough to prevent the same fan base collapse we see now. That would be a 5 million dollar, or so, gamble and I'm not convinced the heavyweight boosters are willing to accept the risk.

I discussed with the girl running the register at Walmart last night who once checked out a GA working for Hart so I know I am correct. (requisite snide remark)

Cool story bro.

me personally i would love to see dabo swinney from clemson he can recruit like a mother at clemson imagine what he could do at UT

Yes, if the team continues to improve, then it would seem wise to stick with Dooley. Is that coming along fast enough for most of us? No, but rebuilding is a long road. One thing about it, some of the problems we see make even the slightest improvement readily apparent. If we take a turn backward then it might be a very interesting off season.

No my buddy is in the next office wondering WTH I am doing on VN on a Monday morning after a bye week.:D

Goes to show that the Doolrites are all lip service. They sing Dooley's praises but when they are all alone, they vote Saban. They know nothing about true loyalty like the Grudenites possess. Yet, they lecture us about the lack of loyalty.

Sorry she has no connections with Fisher. There is a fella in the produce section who once sold rhubarb to Bud Adams' chauffeurs housekeepers mailman. Let me work on it.......

That may be so, but it shouldn't take 4 full seasons before seeing SOME tangible improvement...and I'm not talking about moral victories against ranked opponents. That's what Vandy plays for. Moral victories and 8-4 seasons is not Tennessee football. That's Ole Miss and Miss St.

You are about two seconds from taking a leak on knucklehead's shoe, aren't you?

DD is in his 3rd year not 4th, has 2 full recruiting classes thus far.

Majors took over 5 years to rebuild us last time.

What record reflects TN Football?

It is the middle of the season and we play our biggest game of the year this Saturday and all you idiots can talk about is a 50 year old guy who is never going to coach at Tennesseee. This is pathetic. Think about the players that read this.

True on all counts. Same thing applies in the SEC. I know Gruden knows his business without a doubt but nothing tells me he is a sure success so many here would seem to believe.
The point is...he competed very well, but after Brad Johnson, he never really got himself a marquee QB. Chris Simms was all hype and yet all bust. Funny Simms played better for Tampa, under Gruden, than at any point in his career. Was never more a 3rd string QB for the Titans. Garcia (like Hasselbeck is now) was on the downward slope of his career.

I honestly think the Bucs were a lot like the Titans. Never willing to make a draft day trade to move up in the top 5-10 spots in the draft, to get that franchise QB. Had Gruden done that...he'd still be coaching in Tampa.

Well, screw us for trying to give the players hope.

I know Dooley is in his 3rd season. The point is we shouldn't have to wait until the end of the season next year to look back and say..."Yep...we won an SEC game besides UK and Vandy."

There is too much talent and experience on this team to continue to regress.

It took Majors 5 yrs to beat a quality SEC opponent? Really? :loco:

Since grudges will be the coach as soon as this week...what good hope that is! Really, the words you speak not only abandon the current coach but they abandon these seniors and this team as well.

I would love to see the results of a poll of the players if given the choice to be coached by Gruden or Dooley.
