There was a rumor on here somewhere that Haslam was talking to Gruden but it's thought that he may be talking to him about his new NFL team rather than for UT since that would be the job of AD Hart.

I'd love to see any proof that the big $$$ boys for UT have said they'll pay the big buyout of the CDD contract and still shell out the huge $$$ it'll take to get a big named, successful coach to take over the rebuilding task here.

Somethinng I always consider is this...

As long as Nick saTan stays at alaBubba he'll be someone we'll have to learn how to beat and when we Win the SEC East then most likely it'll be alaBummer and saTan that we'll have to beat to get a shot at a National Championship game.

Who would better know how nick saTan thinks and plays than a coach that spent 7 years learning from nick saTan and was his assistant Head Coach?

VFL...GBO!!!

Sorry,BV..We have something we disagree on, but that's ok..Both of us are Grudenites so that's all that matters.:)

I know...its ok. Like I said, everybody is entitled to their opinion. His overall record in the Big Least is average. I just think we can do better, even its not the Gru.....heaven forbid.

I'll throw another name out there. Gregg Williams. He may not have any interest in college. However, who knows when the NFL will let him coach again. Top notch defensive coach with HC experience.

If Gruden doesn't end up here this time around, I'll admit I'll be off the bandwagon forever. However, I'm still a little hopeful (although skeptical) at the moment.

I'd be fine with Strong, though.

Except.... Harts not ready to make a change so 8 wins and he's still here.

I have heard that Hart is not exactly keen on letting him go, but he's not afraid to do it. (See Summitt situation) From conversations, he very well may be leveraged into parting ways.

Same....heard Dooley has been very good at alligning himself with Hart. Also heard Hart knows his own situation is tenuous, and that a splash hire that fixes the program could go a long way toward consolidating his power base. So far he's done little to ingratiate himself to the voices behind the scene....boosters and Lettermen alike.

See what type of good conversations we can have when we all stop the name-calling?

You are correct about the Browns. This whole deal is going to go through Cleveland from some of my conversations. There's been some very interesting conversations on this front. I will not go into that any further.

As to the Saban deal, that really can go both ways. If I were an opposing coach that I knew I had someone else out-classed, I would pump him up too. Also, he coached with Saban for seven years, yet remained a position coach. He was never trusted with any coordinator's job. It cuts both ways.
