So the Grudenites feel if DD can't lead the Vols to victory over 3 ranked opponents this month he should be fired. What if Gruden was the HC and the same scenario? anyone who has expectations that if a coach can't take an unranked team and beat 3 ranked opponents should be fired, is an imbecile.
He hasn't beaten a rival or a ranked team in 3 years. He hasn't even shown significant improvement in those games.
He has not had a SEC roster to compete with, ever think that has something to do with it as well? It is not like DD calls all the plays on offense and defense
He took a ranked team against Florida, and lost by a larger margin than be did last year.
Ever dawn on you that DD is not the first coach to lose to Florida while being HC at UT. Florida could also be better than many of us are thinking as well.
All of this is known....but is chosen to be ignored by those who wish to.disagree.
OK Grudenites, I just put Titans&volfan4life on ignore.........hope he returns the favor.
No one is ignoring anything, perhaps some acknowledge the challenge of rebuilding and understand 2 recruiting classes (1st class was Kiffins mainly that DD secured) is not going to restore the depleted roster he inherited.

Thanks for ignoring me.
It's pretty immature that you have to ignore someone with a different opinion especially when there's a little logic to the opinion.
I hardly ever ignore anyone because I want to see peoples opinions and any logic behind those opinions.
I don't see it as logical to fire CDD only 1/2 way through the rebuilding process especially since UT doesn't have the money to pay HUGE $$$ to try and get a proven, successful, big name coach to risk his career by coming to Tennessee.
Just my opinions though and you Grudenites seem to mostly ignore other opinions and logic anyway.
VFL...GBO!!!
^^^ This is 100% factual ^^^
Well stated Gman and a likes thumbs up for you buddy.
Careful though buddy because alot of Grudenites can't stand facts or logic and ignore them and some will ignore you too like they did me, LOL.

A little about me...I was a vehement Dooley defender until the Akron game. That was the last straw and where I fell off the wagon. I think he is a fantastic individual....I like him as a person. He is a loser as a coach.
Just so you know, I have never been a sunshine pumper or supporter of DD, nor have I been negative. I am in the camp of we need talent and he is recruiting that but we need more of it before we can say we can compete in the SEC. The Akron game? really
The lack of improvement over 3 years is what concerns me. We have a variety of continuing problems that are a result of coaching as opposed to roster....kicking game, inconsistent QB play, onfield discipline etc. Many coaches achieve better results with less talented rosters than he has had at his disposal. That is a cop-out.
Checkout how many players are getting drafted from UT verses the rest of the conference. It should be a good indicator as to where our program is. As far as the kicking goes, they were ranked #1 their senior years, who knew they would turn out that way. All QB's have bad games from time to time, I remember Peyton against Memphis, these are still kids they will make mistakes. Name these coaches and be sure to name the ones who coach in the SEC.
Lastly, his record prior to his arrival here is reflective if these same issues.
He's the first person in nearly 7 years on the forum that I've put on ignore. I hate doing that, and typically am critical of those that do. After multiple duplicate posts I realized he's not trying to affect the debate, but trying to curtail it.
That record has zero to do with his record here, it is a little harder to recruit to LA Tech than it is UT. Until this season is over and we have a chance to see our this teams responds to the ranked SEC teams will we have a better insight as to which direction this program is heading.

I'm fine with the "wait until the end of the season" approach. Not the position I am taking but I'm not going to bash someone for doing that. Although, if he goes 0 for in October and is not competitive in the Bama game he won't get to the end of the season.
