I'm confident that if he is truely interested as he has indicated, Hart will get this done. Hart's job depends on the home run hire.

Our track record is not very good

Those two were UT legacies. Not hard to get them to coach at UT

Fulmer would have sold his left cod to coach at UT at the time

It's Dooley... that's the bad hiring decision. Otherwise, the rest were rational. There are good coaches who'd welcome a multimillion dollar contract to coach the Vols.

The alternative view was just bogus Hamilton-speak stuff. He's gone... his foolishness should be cast out with him.

At 4:40 on the video... great post!

Feldman has a really solid perspective on the reality that is UT football under Dooley. Beating Miss State would say as much about MSU as it would about us (I totally agree... an undefeated, unknown team that is ranked is CDD's best chance at beating a ranked team). Feldman also notes that even if we finished 8-4, it would be 'the least impressive 8-4 team <UT has> ever had."

The 25% is optimistic, imo.

Let's hope the new trend in the SEC changes some minds in Knoxville. It has to be a splash hire.

This is something folks need to understand. This is likely the easiest schedule UT has had or will have for some time. An 8-4 or even 9-3 record could very well be fool's gold. Some fans will be convinced Dooley has it fixed and then next year comes, bringing everything crashing down and back to reality.

This is the thread that matters. I sort of like the idea of rational folks just posting here for a while. You guys have momentum... and in the end, all these threads are about hiring Gruden! :hi:

Agreed. I think every one of those people would be happy to get Gruden. They just don't believe it could happen and they would rather ride with the known quantity hoping lightning strikes and he figures it out.
