He shouldn't be back with 8 IMO.

9 and he at least is going to win one game he shouldn't have won. I'd still have my doubts, but wouldn't see a change until the next year when they regress.

So your thinking a new coach gives us a better chance against those 3 teams on the road? A new staff, a new offense scheme etc etc etc.... interesting.

As much as I am on the fence concerning Dooley I am not sure he will be fired this year no matter the outcome. Can UT afford another buy out with the athletic department in the red? Gruden would be awesome in my opinion but I don't think he is the coach next year. My useless opinion is that Dooley is the guy next year no matter how this thing goes this year. His fate might just be in the hands of the big 3. If they return their experience alone SHOULD make UT better. If they leave his fate is still a toss up. Who knows for sure besides Hart though?

OK. Kiffin almost beat bama, beat USC. He had two walk-ons on the O-line and Crompton as the Quarterback. It was basically a rag tag team that kicked some ass imo. This UT team is much more talented, so it possible to be done, even with bad teams, which this is not. Again, I want him to succeed, just don't believe it will happen.

Has anyone else heard about a meeting at the Athletic Department with all the big donors today? Apparently even Haslam flew in for it.

I never said that. I do think we could improve. What I am saying is I believe they would just be putting it off for a year anyway. I (like knucklehead_vol said) want him to succeed. I just don't believe he will. We didn't beat Florida this year. What makes anyone think next year will be any different when they basically have everyone returning? Alabama is going to be loaded as usual. And Oregon is not going to be much different than they have been. Infact , they might be better. These are only 3 games. I didn't even mention the home games. If things don't change soon , we are just avoiding the inevitable.

IMO, If we win at MSU and lose to Troy, then the MSU win would be less meaningful(MSU is ranked but not considered one of the big boys)...If they lost to Troy, a team they should have beaten without question especially being at home, then Dooley's fate is pretty close to being sealed..:twocents:

There was some fund rasier or something like it going with Pilot Oil. Hart is in a picture on UTsports at one of the locations. The headline has changed , but the picture is still up. This may be what was going on. Hope they talked about other things while they were at it.
