Man I can't wait 'til the Gru' is roaming the sidelines at Neyland, glaring at our opponents across the field, and returning us to former glory!!

Sometimes I just can't contain my excitement.......like now!!!

You NegaGrudens can't crush my hopes and dreams!!

They would be happier too but can't allow themselves to be hopeful. We are ahead of the curve.

Cyber bully. You play nice.

Well, it's the first time I've ever been called one..IMO, I don't even come close to the description of a bully b/c I've been on other message boards and seen a true internet bully..Won't go into that.:peace2:

i told my hubby that someone called me a bully for the first time and he just laughed a little like this::eek:lol:.

REALLY, JayVols?? I find this particularly interesting on a few different levels. I'm sure that he also doesn't mind you popping it off on a public forum. Run it by him when ya'll speak later, K?

K. See my explanations. I will admit that I should have prefaced this with "I have been told". I apologize that it implied that I had direct knowledge of thid.

I have avoided this thread previously because it isn't very productive or relevant right now.... But FTR, I hope UT hires a proven recruiter who can coach. Any recruiting experience Gruden might have had is over 20 years old. Contrary to what many will try to say, recruiting is more than just having a name. It is a complex and difficult operation that then requires someone to be an ace salesman.

Recruiters can be hired. He would be the best closer in the business. Are you considering joining the merry fellowship?

you guys bringing back the Mcrib again?

No not quite.

Actually the French Revolution was started by the right wing upper classes, protesting high taxes. France was BROKE because of war and colonial pursuits (sound familiar?)

The Crown (royalty) tried to quell the dispute, but then.... the "left-wing", the poor and oppressed, seized the opportunity and rebelled against both the rich AND royalty itself and took control.

Fortunately the McRib claimed monopolized independence for fast-food chains. Good luck!

I have no idea what just happened.

Have no idea what you are talking about.

I want a winner. That's all. If its Dooley, I'm fine with that. If it is someone else, I'm fine with that too.

I simply question whether you can be an elite, championship coach in CFB without being an exceptional recruiter and manager of recruiting.

What makes you think Gruden would be a great closer?

I could see just the opposite. Would he have the patience to court a 17 years old prima donna? These recruits have name brand coaches fawning all over them. Would Gruden be able to handle a punk kid treating him like just another prom date option?

I don't know and neither do you... neither does Gruden for that matter. The game and especially the recruiting game has changed significantly since he was at Pacific.

Maybe even a bigger question is would he have the desire to put in the hours needed to be an elite recruiter? It isn't just the work. Its being away from home, late nights during the "off season", hours of video trying to get on the next great player early, etc. It is a marathon. It is something a coach has to love to do to be successful in CFB.

Again, no one including Gruden truly knows if he wants to do that at this stage of his career though he probably has a some idea.

We are called negavols at every turn. Courtesy of spudvol I think a proper term for the pro-Dooley crowd has been given:

Vollyannas.

What says the Grudenites?

I say kudos spudvol. Whether or not you are a Grudenite, I still tip my hat to you.
