So if Saben were here with CDDs record you'd think everything was peachy?

I'll answer.

While I would not be "peachy" with this scenario, I would have a sliver of hope that it would get better. Had Dooley had Saban's resume, I would feel the same way about Dooley. As it is, he has never accomplished anything of note as a HC leaving absolutely nothing concrete for those swinging on his grapefruits to base their "hopes" and delusions on.

Yes, track record and history does matter.

I knew you would. You actually think for yourself.

History only matters in getting the job. From there the standard is the same.
Regardless of who the coach is the performance has been unacceptable. Saying it was ok for Majors because he won a nc is crap. It was unacceptable then and he should have been fired. CFP should have been fired after 05. Anything less than 9-3 and CDD should be fired IMO

I still contend that Hart doesn't care what I think and CDD will get one more year. I have no reason to believe he will be successful with the chance. It's just what's going to happen.

I respectfully disagree. It is so much easier (and rational, imo) to believe a coach can "turn it around" when they have a track record of success. When they have been a career loser, there's as much evidence to support they will turn it around as there is to support the existence of....... (insert mythical figure here).

So you don't think Saban should or would get more slack than say Shula did if he had some of those type years now?

You may not like it or agree with it but equity means more than you think. Those who have get more slack than those who don't.

Oh I see. I really wasn't inconsistent you were just mad I didn't respond to your post.

Saban would definitely had a longer leash if he came here and had the same record. Then again, like I said, that would have been impossible proving my point that we hired an unqualified coach in the first place and he's continued to prove me right.

If Saban was our coach and you give him the same set of circumstances, same record and everything I would be willing to wait it out longer. JMO

I'm actually not sure he would have gotten more slack. They were pretty dang tired of losing.
I remember the heat he was taking the First year.

Should he get more slack?

Absolutely not.
Work to a standard. Hit it or get out. Especially at that level

Why do we have to relax a standard for someone who did great things elsewhere? Add to it he has a history of running away when it doesn't go as planned (Miami).

He survived the early heat because the bammers had watched hm win a NC out of their division.

Im was actually talking about the present with his current history as the Bama coach. He is on his way to "Bear" type status right now. He has more slack at this point than Shula did. Fair or not thats life.

They read form the Book of Bear and of Saban. They no longer read from the Books of DuBose and Shula!

Right now our standards have dropped to some calling for a 2 year extension because we were in a close game against a rival.
