The loss of Wilcox ........

Dooley said some coaches just were not ready for sec football. Wilcox didn't leave voluntarily I will post the link.

I think he was talking about himself. You missed where he walked off laughing and very softly uttered.. suckers as an evil grin came across his face.

Wilcox was our best coordinator and he'll be a future head coach IMO, don't know if his style of defense would have been dominant in the SEC, but he definitely did not have enough time here.

That didn't answer the question unless you are saying they would be last. Where would their physical style of offsense rank them in the SEC?

Your question originally was if Stanford was an SEC type offense, which is a yes or no question. Their offense IMO would be middle of the pack against SEC defenses week in and week out.

And I agree with that as I stated earlier I think middle of the pack. Where would you rank florida??

Florida offense week one and two was below average IMO. But give credit where it is due, they have done a great job improving their O each week. By the end of the year they could be pretty good offensively.

Agreed again but it would be hard to say they are any better than middle of the pack ATM.

My point is if Stanford which we both agree is middle of the pack then you also would have to say they are an SEC type offense just as florida is as well.

Watching the great gameplay JW had last night made me realize that his departure may have indeed been the most crushing blow to DD and his ability to get this turned around. Most of us think SS was a great hire but reality is a new defensive scheme was destined to take some time to implement. Let's hope SS can lesson the growing pains process but IMO JW would have given DD a much better shot at survival this season.

oh god! success breeds content and blind allegiance.

4 games = taking too long to adjust to the new D?
UGA was not good the first yr they switched to the 3-4.
AL was not good the first yr they switched to the 3-4.

It takes at least a yr to get comfortable with a switch to the 3-4, you should see improvement as the season goes on, but hoping to have it down after only 4 games is completely unrealistic, but such is most of the fan base today.

I said longer than we hoped, not longer than we expected.

I agree to an extent. The offenses do not have to be the same type to be ranked at the same level. I don't think Pac teams are physical enough to play in this league. The best the Pac has to offer would be middle of the pack in the SEC.

Type maybe. Not quality.
Recruit 5th or 6th in the SEC, season in season out, it's where you end up.
Wilcox may wins some games where he is.
Happy for him, but it ain't even close to the SEC.

Amen. Stanford rolled up 20 against San Jose State.

Anybody interested in changing their opinion on this topic?????

For the record I still think SS is the guy for the future but today is painfully evident that JW was better in short term.

44 points is the most points we have scored and still lost the game in team history. Previous record was 37 points in the 1995 loss to UF.

51 points is the 3rd most points we've given up in school history.

1995- 62 UF
2007- 59 UF
2012- 51 UGA
1923- 51 Vandy
1909- 51 Vandy
