The loss of Wilcox ........

They are a physical team. To be at the top in the SEC a team must play physical along with speed. I may be wrong but I do not think Stanford has the overall team speed as the better SEC teams have.

That's fair and I doubt they would be better than middle of the pack but they are physical and that was the issue most had with JW

So he gave up ten points and that means his D won't work. Let's just be honest about which coordinator should have been shown the door after that game.

No doubt. Anybody using the ky game against Jw has zero football intelligence

JW's defensive scheme does not work in the SEC. Kentucky is a case and point.

JW defense didn't lose that game. The offense lost it by not scoring or as rumor has it, not wanting to score. The defense stopped KY over and over from getting into the end zone. Don't twist the facts into something below even a lie.

Vol nation needs a Tshirt. All black of course, with white and orange lettering.

Front side: Nega's unite!

Back side: Come to the dark side.

I just need to remind you one game: a WR, who has never taken a single snap at QB position in college level, beats Tennessee for the first time in 26 years.

Does claiming this team would have a better chance to win with JW make me a nega?

I also have stated SS is better long term

Watching the great gameplay JW had last night made me realize that his departure may have indeed been the most crushing blow to DD and his ability to get this turned around. Most of us think SS was a great hire but reality is a new defensive scheme was destined to take some time to implement. Let's hope SS can lesson the growing pains process but IMO JW would have given DD a much better shot at survival this season.

taking this as either you didn't watch the last 2 years for some reason or an attention post

I think some people start threads because they think it makes them sound smart. Stupid thread!

It's a message board. The post is relevant to a former UT coach who was involved in a game last night. What better thread could you have started? Would you rather it be a 17th thread about Gruden? Perhaps the 8th thread wondering why we don't get CP the ball more? Or maybe you would prefer a 12th thread about black jerseys.

No, I was actually thinking the same thing watching the game. It's a moot point though. CSS is a very good coach that will have them on point by the end of the year.

I am very excited to see if tomorrow is the day he dials the right scheme. He will at some point I have no doubt. Sooner than later preferred

His defensive style in the SEC was comparable to the offensive scheme of Dave Clawson as OC.. we saw how both worked(didn't) for us... Besides Stanford is extremely overrated.. One game doesn't change my mind anyway.. good riddance. Stupid thread

I want to remind you that even a blind squirrel (the WR/QB) finds a nut once in a while. All the Tennessee offense had to down was score 11 points and we'd win.

You see, a defense is meant to stop the other guys. An offense is meant to score against the other guys. Each part of them team units have a job to do. if one or the other doesn't get it done, 9 times out of 10 the team loses.

Now, for some folks I know that's an impossible concept to comprehend. For such folks I can only recommend a hard wire link into the Lawnmower Man virtual reality computer. In this world, reality doesn't really mean anything so by default, neither does comprehension.

So Clawsens offense which put up record numbers for futility and basically got a HOF coach fired is the same as a defense that ranked in the top quarter nationally? Wilcox left for a job that he wanted and if UW hadn't wanted him, someone else would have. Clawsens lack of opportunities since then speaks for itself.

You watch Wilcox the last couple of years? Thats what you should be basing your opinion on, not in the Pac.
