I thought Griffin was committed to UGA? Did they drop him? If so, when did this happen? I am just wondering because Rivals still has him committed to UGA. Thanks for any info.

well hopefully they feel better about adams than johnson
Either way must be nice to be in a position to turn down a player with the talent of griffin

First I had heard about UGA being in the picture.

Good thing Campbell is in his ear EVERYDAY, so I still feel pretty good about landing TJ..Just not as good.:ermm:

Anyone else impressed with the quality of DT's on the board this year? It just seems like there are a lot of good players available that we have a chance at as compared to previous years.

Notice the position to be able to tell the #11 player in your state and the #12 overall DT in the nation ... thanks, but hold off just a bit and we will get back to you. Just illustrates the talent disadvantage we must overcome each and every recruiting year in finding players. He would be a top 3 player in Tennessee.

It's a completely different level of playing field right now between the top programs in the SEC and Tennessee. Tennessee is just not recruiting at a high enough level IMO to be able to make a serious move up the SEC ladder. This year is their best chance IMO, I cant see how they'll have a better shot of doing it over the next 3-4 years. They aren't bringing in the players needed.

We either need to commit to our HC with an extension or not this year. Doing nothing is allowing our competitors and media to frame-up HC Dooley in any fashion they see fit.

Recruiting defensive players is going to be completely different from here on out. Like I've stated previously, the 3-4 scheme is much more reliant on body types. But, afterall, we have top players already committed in Kameron Miles, Jason Carr, and Ben Bradley. Anyone with a brain realizes that we are in VERY good shape with Vonn Bell and Toby Johnson. The LBs are suspect, but a lot of people are finally starting to appreciate Vereen and Zanca. We'll just have to keep faith in Sal since everyone claims he's the best in the business for LBs. Let's also throw in JRM. I don't see any real issues so far.

Offensively, I think we're lacking at the RB and WR positions, obviously. Koehler is lined-up by all accounts to finish off the OL strongly. Rumph, Stewart, and Strong are all top JUCO WR prospects with legit offer lists. We're in the running for North, and he really enjoyed his visit. We have Paul Harris on board. If one of CP or JH stays for their senior season, I don't see an immediate issue at WR given what we brought in last class. For RBs, the consensus seems to be Turman and hopefully the addition of Green. So, I think things are set up very nicely. With CDD, we've always finished strong, and I think we're lined-up to do it again. I fail to see how we're not recruiting well enough.

The thing that worries me with Toby and uga is the fact that uga's 3 starting D linemen are all SR's and ut's all JR's. He'd be able to start day one at uga if that's a factor for him.

I think he could be in the 2-deep day one, but he is not a NT and I do not see him leaping Drew or Smith at the DE position. Having said all that, they are indeed a threat being he is from Georgia.

I think the bigger problem continues to be depth and lack of a senior class (left with the remnants of Kiffin's '09 class).
